25 years is way too long. I saw a story recently about a man who blew up a United Airways plane in 1955 killing all aboard. He did it to kill his mother who was a passenger. The state of Colorado executed him 14 months after the crime was committed.

That is the opening event for the movie The FBI Story with James Stewart...

It had quite an effect on me when I saw it years ago as a young ster...

They caught him because he bought extra life insurance on his mother ...

A guy tried to assassinate FDR but missed and instead killed a mayor. I think they executed him in a couple of weeks.

Just read the story. Jack Gilbert Graham. And he said he didn’t feel sorry for the people he murdered. Too bad he only got the gas chamber instead of being blown up with dynamite like he use to blow up the plane. But he was executed fairly quickly.
