No... as I get older, and the naivete of youth wears off, I now believe there never was.

It seems those “booted and spurred, ready to ride” us have always been with us, one way or another and mean to continue.
And that is infuriating to me, as an American. Hell, as a human being...

It is the human condition and will never stop. Two people can work together, but if you put another person with those two, at some point, two will come together and conspire against the one in a small or large way. There is chaos from then on and if you add more people, there will be larger chaos.

I believe it was Windflier who yesterday said if we stand up and stare our enemies in the eye, they may very well back down. Every time we deny having guns, every time we try to "work around" their ever-increasing regulations and laws instead of stopping and repealing them, and every time we back down from them, they're emboldened. We outnumber them, so let's stop running. Our enemies think we're scared of them...let's show them otherwise.

Myself, I’m avoiding lakes/boats “like the plague”.
I was thinking about this yesterday - do you know where the nearest FBI office is in relation to your house? I think most people think the FBI is in Washington, D.C. Well, they have offices all over this country. If you go to search and put in “FBI near (your town)” you will find the one nearest you. They could be at my house in about thirty minutes. What about you?
I have nothing illegal at my house and I don't break the law “as it is right now” so I don't expect the FBI to be interested in an old lady like me. We in Texas are not like Connecticut where they have to register certain firearms right now and millions aren't doing it. I wonder what is going to happen with that, whether or not Eric Holder will enter that state with his justice department. That is a Conn. state law but that doesn't stop Holder when he wants to take over.

Maybe I'm just not the sharpest knife in the drawer, or maybe it was mentioned in post #60, which I admit I only scanned because it was soooooo long, but it occurs to me that maybe Alex and his ilk are doing and saying what they are on purpose.
It occurs to me that we know nothing about the lowlife worm other than what he says on this forum. How do we know he's really a 70-year old cowardly expat sipping Mai Tais on the beach in the Philippines? How do we know he's not some 23-year old geek blogger, sitting in some office in the basement of the White House, working for the Obammunist disinformation effort? How do we know that he and others like him aren't purposefully working to discourage wavering conservatives, and convince them to turn chicken a**, just to get them out of the way?
Okay, I know...it sounds like a stretch, and maybe this is so obvious that it's already occurred to all of you, and I'm just late to the party. But if Alex and his ilk are Obammunist trolls on this forum, spreading despair that many of us are falling for, and gathering information on the rest of us, what does that mean? It means we have to be even more steadfast in our determination to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It means we have to not slack off one bit, that we have to continue to stare our enemies down, and make them understand that if they continue to push us, they'll be in a world of hurt like they can't even imagine. It also means we have to get to work to ensure that never has to happen.

I think we all need to be on our toes. As the bumper sticker says, "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean I'm not being followed." These are ominous times, dawgs, and the Gestapo are everywhere. Be safe, and be on your toes.
