US asset that went rogue —acted nutzo, got in touch with the real crazies, later identified with them and flipped to the dark side.

FBI killed that Florida guy in the field, “he lunged at us”. They were probably worried the guy knew his buddy had been a US asset, wanted to avoid scandal blow-back.

Really? I did not hear that.
But given the oddities around the circumstances, especially the lead-up, it wouldn't surprise me.
