WASHINGTON (AP) — The Hispanic National Bar Association on Wednesday said it cancelled its 2015 convention in Phoenix over legislation adding protections for people who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays.

The move makes the group one of the first to pull out of Arizona because of the proposed law. President Miguel Alexander Pozo says the group views the controversy as a civil rights issue. "Laws that return us to a darker time in the nation's history simply cannot be tolerated," he said in a news release.

Maybe they should have their meeting over the border. Rocky Point or somewhere close by.

They should move the meeting to Mexico City or Tiawana.

The leader of this shyster group, President Pozo, sounds like he has a real liking for anus.

Personally, I’d welcome a boycott of my state from such scum.

Ten years ago, homosexual marriage was not recognized anywhere in America, and liberals were not even trying to pass same sex marriage laws at the time.

But since then, we are all supposed to change our opinions because liberal judges tell us to do so. It doesn’t matter if we have religious beliefs about homosexuality or other behaviors. We are supposed to violate those religious beliefs to prove how liberal we are.

If homosexuals feel so discriminated against, why are so many openly gay nowadays? Why do gays, as a group, have higher incomes than the national average? In what ways are gays discriminated against? What civil rights are they denied? Do we have to change the definition of marriage as a matter of civil rights?

Interesting. Aren't a lot of Latinos Catholic? Wonder how this jives with their religious beliefs.

A lot of blacks are religious. But they make up a larger percentage of abortions in American than any other race.

Selective adherence to one's beliefs isn't uncommon. It's how they manage to oppose gay marriage yet still support the abortion party.

I yearn for 1846 to 1848.

But the last downsizing of DC was in 1814.

I personally think people should threaten to boycott the superbowl. The NFL apparently made their decision to pander to gays all by themselves now let gays be their audience.

Great news! I hope they all go to Hell — immediately. That’s where they should hold their conference.

What’s the point, huh, give them everything they want and they still b*tch and kvetch.

Pay no attention to the tipping point in your rear view mirror.

Majorities no longer have any say.. minorities now rule thru subterfuge, vitriol and spit.. and the media could care less, most of them are the ones spitting.

Speaking as a Catholic, the belief has deteriorated to such an extent that anything goes in the name of tolerance, love and touchy-feelly.

didn’t they already boycott Arizona during the whole SB1070 legislation back in 2010 or so? “undocumented” people who were pulled over for other reasons would face misdemeanor charges or something like that... i remember all these organizations saying they would take their conferences elsewhere, like to San Diego... it does not seem to have hurt Arizona...
