The GOP will not host a convention in Sin city. Las Vegas. Cleveland Ohio is a no go too.

Sin City wouldn't be a good site. The convention center is located a considerable distance from most of the hotels where delegates, alternates, media, etc. would be staying and public transportation is poor. Besides, summertime temperatures would be in the triple digits.

How about Tamuning, the tourist area on Guam.

Guam has a Republican governor (Eddy Calvo) who has reduced government spending and brought the territory back from the edge of bankruptcy. They certainly have enough hotel space and that time of year is the rainy season when tourism is down.

No casinos
Warm but but not super hot climate.
Nice beaches
Good fishing

Generally a less unwholesome place than Las Vegas

It is also remote enough that the rent a riots protesters would have to spend money to come, they couldn’t just be bussed in from California or Ewwww Yuck City. (since a large number of leftist environmental types think airplanes are a huge environmental catastrophe maybe they’d stay a way)

The major industry on Guam after tourism is the US Military so there could be some neat tie-ins with that regarding the Obamanation of Desolations policies.

Lastly my supervisor went to the Obamanation of Desolation’s inauguration, having the Republicans come here might cause him to crap his pants and that would be fun

Everything up to date in Kansas City
They’ve gone about as fur As they can go
They got a big theatre called a burley Q
Fur fifty cents you can see a dandy show!

I've been to that theater. It's called the Kemper Arena, and it's where the GOP held its National Convention in 1976. And it was a dandy show--Reagan delegates and guests celebrating by blowing horns after Reagan's name was placed in nomination; Governor Nelson Rockefeller of New York; a Ford delegate; ripping out telephone wires to keep Reagan delegates from communicating; the Texas delegation and the California delegation, all Reagan delegates, shouting back and forth at one another "Viva! Olé!"; Jack Ford, President Gerald Ford's son pouring confetti over the Texas delegation from the balcony to rub it in after Ford won the nomination, and TV cameras focusing on a group of diehard Reaganites--including your's truly--shouting at Ford, "Four More Months" as the convention drew to a close.

The only one of those cities that is not either a like being in an oven or in a pot of boiling water in June is Denver.

I have lived in or near all of them except Las Vegas and Cleveland. Vegas is desert and Cleveland is .........Cleveland.

Maybe Columbus would be a nice pick and Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech could be in the big horseshoe.

WHEN is the GOP Convention?

They've decided to hold it one month after the election this time around. This way none of them have to make any commitments on issues or anything messy like that. The strategy is designed to try and make the GOP look more "inclusive".

>> Well, I’d say Arizona and Ohio are bad decisions. Mainly because Brewer or Rob Portman might attend. <<

Puke. I was thinking Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati would be good choices because they're the political epicenter of America, but then you mentioned Portman and I realized you're right... the little turd WOULD most likely try to take an "active role" if it was in his home state, and he'd probably even want to introduce the nominee or give a speech about "small businesses" or something (he'd still slip some pro-gay rights reference into the speech anyway). Ohio is a no go.

Looking at the remaining options, the most logical choice for me is Denver because we need that state to stop voting RAT in Presidential elections, and we have a good chance at some statewide pickups this year to build ground for 2016. I know the RATs have been to Denver before, and fairly recently, but looking at the list of GOP conventions, I don't think they've ever given it a shot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Republican_National_Conventions

The freeper suggestion of holding it Detroit so we could inflitrate deep inside the enemy's camp and show America what one-party RAT rule has done is intriguing irony, but do you really want to torture the delegates by forcing them to get hotels there? Putting in Denver after the RATs celebrated Obama there is a big enough middle finger to them.

I hope the RNC will finally lose Colin Powell's invite, but I won't hold my breathe.

Another one I have considered is Iowa. The rats should NOT have won that last time. They lost North Carolina and Indiana from the first go-around. Iowa is a largely rural state. There is no excuse to keep losing it.

But I think turning Colorado around is a priority.

Right. Have the convection AFTER the election. Avoid all that messy stuff that goes on before elections completely.
