Damn, that sucks but not the first time I’ve heard it happening to Good Sam. I quit picking-up hitchhikers in bad weather, in the 90s, after so many robberies/beatings/murders in NJ-NYC.
I have 65hrs in EMT-2 training - in 1989-90, for potential farm-related accidents before I opened the business - not certified, but have stopped at numerous farm and road accidents (2 real bad ones) before first responders arrived, and rendered aid. I’d still do it, despite lawsuit risks. It’s my Eagle Scout/Explorer medical training kicking-in, and all the Nurses & Drs influence in my Family which make me do it.
