Gay marriage fight pits Texas AG vs. gay friend

WACO, Texas (AP) When Greg Abbott was paralyzed by a fallen tree in 1984, Mark Phariss flew 500 miles to his friend's bedside. They were law school pals who swapped stories over dinner, job leads and airport rides, and they still exchange Christmas cards today.
Their friendship is now at an extraordinary junction: Phariss, who is gay, filed the Texas lawsuit that a federal judge used this week to strike down the state's ban on same-sex marriage, which Abbott, Texas' attorney general, has vowed to defend all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Both chalk it up as a remarkable coincidence. Abbott, a Republican who is running for Texas governor, said Friday he still considers Phariss a friend, even though they've lost touch in the past decade.

Something tells me Abbott still considers Phariss a friend, but the feeling is not mutual. This is one of the things that can happen when the personal becomes political...

This strikes me as the same type of sob story that the lamestream media spins when some criminal invader graduates as valedictorian. And then it's off to the races painting an endearing picture of the criminal invader is otherwise a model citizen. And there at it again, implying that because a genuinely good man, Greg Abbott, exchanged a few Christmas cards with an acquaintance of 30 years ago that sodomites are just fine and dandy.
No sale. Not for the criminal invaders nor for deviants engaging in what Almighty God has deemed an abomination.

Sometimes doing the right thing -- in this case, opposing the vile, disgusting sin of homosexuality -- requires one to go against a friend or family member who is on the wrong side of the issue. I'm facing the same kind of conflict in my family, and I'm the only one who refuses to enable the person who's trying to pretend they're the opposite sex of what he or she is. Yeah, it makes for some tense and difficult family dinners, but I won't go against my beliefs and enable that person's horrible decision.

Yeah, it makes for some tense and difficult family dinners, but I won't go against my beliefs and enable that person's horrible decision. Good for you! No matter how they may pose themselves, sodomites are evil and look for the first chance they get from a friend or family member to affirm their sinful deviancy.
That said, redemptive Bible-based therapy has been very effective in transforming thousands upon thousands of ex-sodomites into normal people. Repentance is a hard but necessary first step before the Healing Hand of God works its wonders! With Christ, all things are possible and here's a prayer going up for your family member that he will find the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.

Thanks for your prayer...we need all the help we can get. Unfortunately, the family member in question is 20 years old, knows everything about everything, and therefore "knows" that God doesn't exist, Christianity is a lie, and so on. I pray Jesus will find a way into my family member's heart, because he/she will not reach out to Him.
