The numbers are politicized. Downward revisions are the norm. In fact I can’t remember one upward revision during all of Obama’s occupation.

IIRC, there have been some positive revisions, but that has been the exception. I see the 3rdQ GDP growth revised upward for 2010, 2012 and 2013 - generally followed with the unexpected contraction in the fourth quarter.

Also IIRC, the unemployment figures, even though misleading on account of their basis, have been occassionally adjusted/corrected to lower values as the actual data became available.
