At least 28 people have been killed and 113 injured after a group of knife-wielding men hacked their way through innocent people at one of China's busiest railway stations.

Distressing photos circulating online showed bodies, pools of blood and abandoned luggage scattered across the terminal floor at Kunming Railway Station in Yunnan province.

Authorities described the incident at about 9pm local time (1pm GMT) as an 'organised, premeditated, violent terrorist attack.'

Police shot dead five of the unidentified attackers and were searching for around five others, according to state media.

I thought only the presence of evil assault weapons caused mass killings.

“hacked their way through innocent people”

How do we know they were all innocent?

Thankfully China has no 2nd Amendment so therefore mass murders are impossible, right?

Too early to tell, but I’m assuming this is the work of devout Muslims.

Yes! China, although inventing gunpowder, is an amazingly pacific country, with a Buddhist sense of serenity that brought Mao Tse Tung to prominence, continues to impress the violent West with its meditative ways. Richard Gere and myself are all choked up.

I thought only the presence of evil assault weapons caused mass killings

In this case it looks like it was evil assault weapons that stopped the killings.

Sad for any group of sitting ducks when their government doesn’t trust them enough to allow them to own guns for self defense. Let that be a lesson to us all.

If only China had strict gun controls! That will actually probably be the theme on tonight's MSM "news" broadcasts.

Seriously, I've said for a long time, including on this forum, imagine taking a couple of Roman short swords into a crowded area. The damage even one person could do would be unthinkable.

Actually, Yunnan is one of the areas of Muslim influence in China. There are still around 1M Muslims in the province.

I stand corrected. I thought Muslims in China were primarily to the far West, in Xinjiang, north of Kashmir and Tibet. I really wouldn’t have expected many east of Myanmar, and north of Laos and Vietnam.

Map centered on Kunming, site of this event.

You're right of course. The problem is the Corporate Media doesn't hype up the dangers of swords or any bladed weapon so the public doesn't consider it.
