So long as our Leader "leads from behind", the worst thing that can happen is that Russia re-absorbs Ukraine.
But, if our Leader tries to act like a leader, we run the risk of ending up in a shooting war we're ill-prepared for.
If the US moves assets to confront Russia then China will make its move in Asia.

When Russia docked their warship in Havana harbor, and Obama did nothing, this was Putin’s signal that he could invade the Ukraine with impunity.
If we don’t take a stand on this Russian warship in Cuba, then where will we draw a line?
We should move significant naval assets just off Cuba and offer to “escort” this warship through the “dangerous” Caribbean waters back to Russia, provided it leaves the harbor by Monday. After that, we cannot guarantee its safety. Crimea may be in the Russian sphere but Cuba is in ours. Time to take a stand. Call me a war-monger, but it’s too late to stop Russian agression in the Ukraine, but it’s not too late to show some resolve about protecting our own hemisphere from a country that is now an international outlaw.
I would tell Putin we will sink that tub if you don’t move it.

The question is: When is congress going to allow us to have a president who is not hamstringed by his personal dirt?
Ukraine is calling up its reserves (which amounts to every male under 40 who is willing to show up, in a country of 50 million, and maybe a few of the women too, judging by what evolved at the protests.)
Supply 'em. Supply the Poles with whatever they want, too.
We are still very good with that sort of logistics stuff.
