These progressives may be leaving NY as a result of progressive policies, but they will only take those same progressive policies with them.

They have already realized it, and NYC is really screwed. A lot of money left NYC during the Dinkins administration, then Rudy & Bloomberg were able to keep it inhabitable (but still expensive) for a few more years. The city is bleeding Americans and taxpayers (individual and corporate), and has resorted to the “sanctuary city” BS so they don’t have to close down their school system. When DeBlasio’s opponent (a liberal RINO) resorted to harkening back to the Dinkins days as a scare tactic leading up to the election, analysts say it failed because so many people currently in NYC weren’t even there back then (20 years ago); it now has the multi-generational welfare population living next to an imported Third World population. The liberal 1%ers remaining are the target of the new tax scheme, but they have no numbers to oppose it; they will pay, or they will leave.
Texans are sick of being invaded by the poor from Mexico and the Socialists from California. We certainly don’t need the Leftists from New York. Let Florida have them.
There is a logic disconnect in your statement. One can not assume those rich folks leaving voted for the communist.
Actually, it was those who wanted to share the rich peoples wealth that voted for the communist.
Having listened to Rush all these years, one wonders how the rich can escape the taxes. If they maintain an income stream derived in NYC they will be followed to Florida by the NYC tax thieves. Rush apparently gets audited every year and has ceased going to the city at all in order to hold the tax harassers at bay.
I always wondered why the title was ‘Miami 2017’ (or as I remember it). That was a prediction?
NYC has been such and ugly wart on this country I just hope they have a Mayor that will do to them what Colmean Young did to Detroit.
