The Walt Disney Company will cut funding to the Boy Scouts of America, beginning in 2015, because of a policy that bans gay adult leaders in the organisation.
In December the defence and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin said it would no longer donate to the Boy Scouts, because of the same policy. Last May, the California Senate voted to revoke the organisation’s charitable status.
The Boy Scouts organisation said it was “disappointed” by Disney’s decision, which will affect its ability to serve children, Deron Smith, a Boy Scouts spokesman, said in a statement on Sunday. Disney does not provide direct funding to the Boy Scouts but it donates money to some troops in exchange for volunteer hours completed by Disney employees, he said.

The Boy Scouts sold their independence when they started accepting money from corporate America. America’s Ministry of Culture (the Disney Corp) is just another in a long line who are paying dollars to have the Boy Scouts dance on a string.
I doubt ABC cares. They just had another successful Oscars last night. They are making droves of money.
The last movie Walt was involved in personally was Follow Me Boys. Talk about irony.
If you haven’t seen it, it is timeless. A young Kurt Russell is one of the main characters.
He PERSONALLY got involved in the movie and was a huge proponent of Scouting while he was alive.
Ironically, it serves about the same purpose today as it did then - father surrogacy and training people who have had kids how to be proper parents.
I went down to Disney in November and didn’t even go to Disney World itself. Of course the family has gone so many times, but this time we decided to boycott so we went to Universal and Sea World. So much fun!!!!
Disney is demanding to FURTHER homosexualize the Scouts. Conservatives justifiably condemn them for this attack.

Get this. The BSA required all adult scout leaders to go through YPT (youth protection training). The purpose of this is to raise awareness and prevent child abuse by adult leaders. It is very similar to the Virtus training in the Catholic schools.
Then they go full 180 degrees with gay scouts.
Gay scouts will grow up to be gay scout leaders.
How can the BSA square with a counteracting policies?
They can’t. They have to choose one way of the other.

Disney isn't supporting the B.S. troops because they won't let gay scoutmasters take the troops out for a "special moment" in the woods. Disney want them to be even more inclusive.
but like it really matters anymore though... Disney and the scouts have been overrun. Its all parts of God's plan!

My husband and I were on the “tourista” side of Orlando this past weekend and literally could not believe the level of “fairy factor” compared to even two years ago. One example (and this is not the only one, unfortunately) was store employees and their friends ostensibly stocking an outlet clothing store on I-Drive.
It was like someone’s idea of a parody of a Twilight Zone episode where we have “What if men and women were role reversed” with a group of twenty-something males shrieking and caterwauling like an old 60’s sitcom of matronly women gossiping at a beauty parlor, but speeded up like a 33 1/2 played at 45. We motored out of there.
Remember, Disney now owns the Muppets, Star Wars and Marvel Comics now too, in addition to ABC and the “Disney” brand.
This may be a complete fake. Since disney corporate has their own limited charities, it is probable this is obama style empty posturing.
Disney is publicly traded, remember when jessie jackson would buy ONE share of a company and use that to force stockholder votes?
Conservatives and Scout Supporters can do the same.
Disney is in the making money business, why would they kick 98.5% of the population out of their financial efforts.
This points out the futility in giving in to the Left's demands to any degree. Once you give in to one thing, it doesn't buy peace, they just move on to the next item on their agenda.
Your ignorance is large. BSA requires all adult leaders to take Youth Protection Training to be registered. The program forbids any of the action you fear. There must always be two deep leadership with all encounters with scouts. One on one is forbidden
Because Disney is engaged in a form of blackmail to further the homosexual agenda, they deserve to get bashed. Regardless of who it is, the purpose of these actions by Disney, Lockheed and many other corporations is to force the BSA’s hand and permit adult homosexual leaders...if they succeed with the BSA, who else will they succeed with?
These and the other companies, alongside the BSA deserve our scorn...they are the perpetrators and enablers through coercion.

what about the apple ceo who just told investors to pound sand? he said climate change “deniers” should not invest in apple. This was in resoponse to shareholders demanding an accounting of apple green pet projects.
Shareholders should do the same to ge, ford, dis, att, etc...
Just because something is "forbidden" doesn't mean it doesn't or won't happen. Gun "free" zones anyone?
Yet, there is a new opportunity for "one on one". There will be teenagers of opposite sexual preferences in the tents.
Thus, a "one on one" at the youth level is presented and BSA has so far refused to answer my questions to them on this and many others.
I agree that conservatives need to let their money do the talking if they’re invested in any of these companies...call your mutual fund or IRA managers and find out where they’re investing it and find alternatives...
in addition to calling the companies involved in this coercion...but some of these could be considered to big to fail at this point by such an action.
They’d feel a pinch, but I think society [and many of their investors and customers] as a whole looks upon these actions of coercion as permissible, all in the name of political correctness, diversity and inclusion.
Which btw, the BSA wholly and heartedly embraces and is busily pushing on its current leaders. So the BSA is enabling their own demise due to their subsistence on the corporate dollar.
Last year was just the camel in the door. After fighting it for years, including a winning USSC decision, BSA leadership quickly caved to popular culture and against their oath.
Once you give in, it’s impossible to stop giving in.
For the record, I was a Scoutmaster with Eagle and Life scout sons. Our troop dissolved and went en masse to Trail Life USA.
