We’ve some thick heads here who see Putin as some type of savior and a rather pleasant alternative to the idiot Obama. I only wish half of these people would try to understand that their sympathy and new found respect for President-for-Life Putin, the former KGB Colonel, is an affront to all things that real conservatives stand for if they understand what conservatism is about. We’re not champions of Putin’s Russian Imperialism. We’re not champions of Putin’s cronyism. We don’t support hostile takeovers of independent countries. We are not gullible to slick former communist propaganda.
Putin has never done anything that affects my life, liberty, or my pursuit of happiness. I can not say the same about Obama. Putin is not trying to disarm me. Putin is not undermining my constitution. Putin is not weakening, nay destroying, this country. I don’t hive a damn about Putin and I wouldn’t lift a finger to stop him if he conquered all of Europe because I don’t give a damn about them anymore either.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call them thick headed or that they see Putin as a savior. They see him as evil but Soros’ puppets are more evil.
Down through the years - many of then as a “cold warrior” - I often found myself wondering if perhaps the old Soviet “Politburo” might have been the most conservative of all institutions(?) (They were certainly not libertarian, however!)
