Nod to Life: Best Supporting Actor Thanks Single, High School Dropout Mom

Looks like the media are tiring of their attack on life, at least when that life turns out to be a celebrity success story.

During his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor, Jared Leto told the story of his mother who fought to create a better life for him despite her status as a high school dropout and single mother. From Time magazine to ABC News, the media offered only praise for Leto’s words.

Leto won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his controversial role in portraying a transgender diagnosed with AIDS in “Dallas Buyers Club” on March 2.

It appears that Mr. Leto is no overly concerned with encouraging others to pass along the gift of a better Life.

“no overly concerned” = NOT overly concerned

Dr. Ben Carson’s mother had a third grade education and forced him to read every day. She was a single mom. Don’t hear a lot of praise for him from the left.

I really hate liberals because I hate stupidity.

i loved that part of his speech... i mentioned it on an earlier thread... i love that he is close to his mother and his older brother... and i also thought he did an excellent job in his role as the transgender... he played a very sad role... based on a true story...

i don't think the left is praising Jared Leto's mom either... they probably cringed when he shared that part of his speech...

He spoke very lovingly of his mother, who was there at the ceremony with him (and his big brother too). What’s not to like?

And the red bow tie was really snazzy and I loved it.

I never heard of this fellow before last night (well I might have heard his name) but I thought he and McConaughey both gave excellent acceptance speeches.

“..they probably cringed when he shared that part of his speech... “

And evidently some idiots on twitter freaked out that Matthew McConaughey thanked God in his. Those people are idiots.

I mean seriously, what are they thinking? Oh, never mind, I guess they are not thinking, they don’t have the brains to do it with.

Matthew McConaughey thanked his mom as well AND thanked God. These two worked on the same film and maybe, just maybe, the tide is turning from left back to right in Hollywood. I sure hope so. God Bless those who believe and stand up for their beliefs.
