Quite a snub. Shirley Temple was a great. They should have paid tribut to her in a big way

Really awful

Awful, I mean, that they snubbed her

What was the timing on the w of oz?

It’s not like Liza Minnelli et al were big in films, if they wee playing up to them

We all know the wizard of oz It couldve been done any time

They should’ve done a tribute there

Ah. I understand. This sounds plausible, and yet I still question the sincerity. Dennis Farina was worthy of recognition. No Jean Stapleton?

“Wrong thread”

No problemo. I’ve been guilty of mixing posts as well.

Why on Earth should Corey Monteif be recognized? He is a tv show actor. Had the Emmy’s left him out then ok, complain but not the Oscars. Tom Clancy? An author? Why on Earth should he be mentioned?

This author is an idiot. Clearly he can’t understand the difference between the Oscars and the Emmy’s. He is complaining about Ralph Waite….Really? The Waltons had to do with the Oscars how??? He was even on NCIS as Gibbs Dad but Still does not deserve to be recognized at the Oscars. The Emmy’s? You bet! Glad to see the well deserved recognition of Paul Walker!

Shirley Temple Black was recognized at the Oscars. The problem may have been that they showed her as an adult and some people might not have recognized her.

Well I posted about Hunt for Red October which Ive always loved because its Sean Connery :)

so when I posted that comment I realized I hadn’t watched that movie for several years so I googled it and found it and enjoyed watching it once more..

From that one I had to :) look for Air Force One with Harrison Ford as the president..

“GET. OFF. MY. PLANE!”

Yes I know the book wasn’t written by Tom Clancy but the president is such a Jack Ryan character and it is Harrison Ford..

So I just finished watching that one too..

and of course Im in tears..

The way all those Americans especially the military regard the president of our great country in that film..

Obama cant start to understand just who or what being the president of the United States means..

and that’s not just sad..

Its a travesty...

and its treason..

I also heard that Cooperstown snubbed Wilt Chamberlain and Akron snubbed Mickey Mantle.

Why Thank You Mary, That means alot (((HUGS)))

I must admit though I have spoiled myself on Audio Books, I Like them so I can multitask, when I re-read Red Storm Rising that is how I did it. LOL

But as far as the plot, I am sure you will get it.

It's about a Non-Nuclear War with the Soviets in Europe. And how our 1980's Technology would have fought it.

Al Gore didn’t win an Oscar. A documentary (movie) that he was in (and wrote I suppose) won an Oscar.

In memoriam doesn’t usually go for authors even if most of their books were turned into movies. And when actors were in TV and movies they usually get memorialized in the medium they were most popular, so Cory is for the Emmys.
