“Obama has practiced a cautious approach to foreign policy crises, prizing sober diplomacy and the search for consensus over brinkmanship”
Seriously?
The guy who pulled the U.S. diplomatic rug out of a 30 year ally (if admittedly, a flawed one) in Hosni Mubarak favors a cautious approach?
The guy who spent the entire summer of 2009 dithering over Afghanistan, leaving our forces in a strategic limbo because he was trying to avoid alienating his base in order to have them on board his healthcare bill, is an example of sober diplomacy?
Good lord, these guys aren’t even bothering to mix the special Kool-Aid with water. They’re eating it right out of the can by the tablespoon!
The remarkable thing is that the press and the White House seem to consider “diplomacy” to consist of the President making a phone call. Diplomacy is meeting with allies, discussing the matter, meeting with the person or group with whom you have the dispute, and even bringing in other parties - and not thinking you can kind of just wing it and so it on your own. Remember how long Bush worked, through Powell and other diplomats, to get support for the various resolutions necessary to go into Iraq and also for sanctions against Iran?
Bambi is so clueless, ignorant and self obsessed he really believes that “diplomacy” is just a matter of him picking up the phone.
What an utter putz.
I was going to sum up the above sentence in one word - "Bumbling".
