Being USA Today could only post the link – but worth the read.

The author makes the point that 20 Years ago, it inevitably looked like the Commonsense Civil Right of Armed Self-Defense was going to disappear, but now look at it.

Something to consider with regards to other issues being pushed by the National Marxist Left these days.

Always remember the saying: Guns - The gateway drug to liberty

BTW, here’s a link to another story from a few days ago that the National Marxist Left media hyperventilating over:

All of the other amendments aren’t worth spit without the Second Amendment.

this shows we can overcome the left with time and persistence, even when they are hell bent against us.

ALL AMERICANS TO MANUFACTURE ARMS

Phila[delphia] May 17 1776

"When I think of the number of men & arms gone from the Eastern Colonies I cannot help feeling for their situation if a powerful attack should be made there but doubt not proper steps are taken to furnish arms.

I think every person who can do any thing towards making arms should be employed in that business.

Britain will no doubt exert her utmost efforts for our destruction but if they are repulsed in the manner. I expect this Campaign I am very confident they never will attempt another. This Summer will in all probability be the warmest America ever saw.

May the Supreme Governor of the Universe protect & Defend us Guide our Councils & Prosper our arms.

I am with great Respect your most ob serv & human"

Yes, someone made the point awhile back about the supposed ‘inevitably’ of Obamacare bringing up the history of prohibition. Here was an ill-founded amendment, that was eventually repealed.

The People win out in the end.

If it works like that, how much longer do you predict Socialist “Security” has?

People PAY for Social Security. Money taken out of their paycheck each week.

ANY time the government wants to return citizens money - with interest and inflation taken into account - the program will end with smiles all around.

Still socialist. Opportunity for all sort of chicanery while they’re holding the money in the “lawwwwwkbox”, plus they’re not doing any investing with it, so the value doesn’t grow, so it’s really just a pyramid scheme. Won’t say “Ponzi”, because that would insult Ponzi.

Bottom line, those same people who are “receiving” the money would have been a hell of a lot better off had the system not been created. The mere fact that they didn’t steal ALL the money and some is left isn’t an actual defense of the program.

If they take our money by force and want to make it all ‘ok’ they need to return the money with interest. The fact that they spent it badly or used it to buy votes is NOT our problem. Return the damn money with interest or shut the eff up...

Good question – only a few years at best.

Two things to keep in mind:

1). The National Commie Left has made noises about ‘nationalizing’ people 401k’s into a “guaranteed” retirement account – in essence stealing the money in your account.

2). I don’t believe there is any law that requires the government to pay people their Socialist “Security”.

Put 2 & 2 together and what do you get?

I actually meant that literally. My understanding is that Ponzi’s scheme, while risky, actually had some theoretical basis by which it could have worked. Supposedly it wasn’t an actual net-zero money-shifting pyramid scheme.
