LUBBOCK COUNCILMAN VICTOR HERNANDEZ PENS RACE-BASED DEFENSE FOR ANTI-ABBOTT REMARKS
Breitbart Texas ^ | March 4, 2014 | Brandon Darby

Posted on 03/04/2014 8:20:26 AM PST by bkopto

“I will not apologize for being an American of Mexican Descent,” said Lubbock Councilman Victor Hernandez in response to the controversy over his reportedly referring to Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott visiting a Hispanic restaurant while campaigning as AG Abbot having “came into our house uninvited.”

The implication was that AG Abbott, being white, was not welcome in a Hispanic community without Councilman Hernandez’s prior approval. Neither AG Abbott nor anyone else on record attacked the councilman for being of Mexican descent.

The initial reported remarks that started the controversy also seemed to attack AG Abbott’s 32-year marriage to a Latina woman as being a ‘prop.’ The controversy reached new heights as Lubbock’s mayor publicly apologized on behalf of the city over the embattled Councilman’s reported statements. Councilman Hernandez, however, denied that the “props” remark was directed at AG Abbott’s wife.

Interestingly, the councilman did not address the “came into our house uninvited” aspect.

What purpose Councilman Hernandez had in implying that a causal relationship exists to his having made racially divisive and seemingly racial-separatist remarks to him being of Mexican-American descent remains unclear at this time.

Someone in Lubbock ought to bloody the nose of this jackass.

He is a divisive liar, hurling charges of racism where none is to be found.

Racism: the eternal charge of the liars, used to divide, inflame, and gin up votes.

Nevertheless, you'll probably want to apologize for being a raving dumbass, Mr. Hernandez.

He is one of the biggest sleezeballs in municipal politics. He has made a career out of being a race hustler as well as using City resources for his business.

“I will not apologize for being an American of Mexican Descent,”...

No need to apologize, if you will act like an American. Since you choose not to do so...

Surprised this flies in Lubbock.

A plurality of families in this neck of the world (East NM/West Texas) are mixed Hispanic/Anglo/Native American of some kind. So common as to not be noticed.

I’m married to a born-on-the-reservation Apache, just for example.

My step-son is engaged to a Jewish girl with a Hispanic father.

It’s just not an issue, usually.

If he apologized for every time he said or did something stupid, he’d never get anything done in the City Council...hey, you may be on to something there!

Hernandez hustles his constituents pretty well. If you ever see him on local TV, he redefines “feckless douchebag.”

The DNC is now probably eyeing this creature for an ad campaign, promoting him for some higher office, just like they’ve done for the Texas Barbie liar.

Perhaps, but the problem is that he makes Obummer look like a high ranking member of Mensa, by comparison.

Yes, indeed: Those statements (by Hernandez) contain a plethora of logical fallacies.

1. No one needs an invitation to set foot in a public place of business (e.g., a restaurant) - and I doubt that the proprietor of said place of business objected to Mr. Abbott's patronage (if he had, he would have been within his legal rights to expel / disinvite him from the premises, which he apparently didn't do). So Hernandez is guilty of falsely implying that Abbott did something unseeming or froward.

2. For that matter, does Mr. Hernandez need an invitation to walk into, e.g., a Bavarian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, etc.? I am betting that even Mr. Hernandez would not claim that he did.

3. Did anyone actually demand that Mr. Hernandez apologize for being of Mexican descent? If not, why is he bothering to announce his refusal to do so? Mr. Hernandez is, in fact, implying that his detractors are asking him to do so, and is thus indirectly accusing them of being racist.

Etc., etc.

Regards,

Breitbart TEXAS is about the best thing for Texas since the fine defeat of Ma Richards. A drubbing realy, and satisfying to see how far above Richards he rose, all the way to the White House.

This story out of Lubbock, is push back of the highest order that Breitbart brings to the battle against turning TEXAS blue, and exposing these Marxist Neanderthals who are given carte blanc and cover, by the Dallas print-rag merchant.

Thanks to Andrew B. and his team. RIP, Andrew.
