Adelante Mujeres is leading a fundraiser for Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros, the driver convicted of felony hit-and-run in the Oct. 20 crash that killed two young Forest Grove stepsisters.
Garcia-Cisneros, 19, was taken by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from Washington County Jail to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma early last month. She has been waiting for a bond hearing in immigration court. Arturo Villaseñor of Adelante Mujeres said Garcia-Cisneros' hearing is happening mid-week but wouldn't specify which day. Her Immigration Attorney Courtney Carter did not respond to a request for comment.
The hearing will determine whether Garcia-Cisneros must remain in custody while her immigration case is pending. At her sentencing Jan. 31, Carter said a bond could cost up to $20,000.
Adelante Mujeres leaders created an online fundraiser Jan. 27, which had garnered $2,673 toward a $5,000 goal as of 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Forest Grove nonprofit provides education and support services for low-income Latinas and their families.

Her friend was charged with Sodomy. He took the vehicle to the carwash.
Both sides agreed not to mention the previous juvenile conviction (for sodomy) of Garcia’s boyfriend, Mario Echeverria, who was involved in the accident.

I would hope so, given that it’s a juvenile conviction, and otherwise irrelevant in this case.
The sodomy conviction, that is.
Interesting that a state that allows illegals to obtain drivers licenses convicts for sodomy (however defined).

After they examined the vehicle with a flashlight, they drove it to Echeverria’s mother’s home in Cornelius. Then the three went out for ice cream.
The next day, Echeverria took the SUV to a Hillsboro car wash, where he paid for the deluxe wash that included undercarriage cleaning.
Echeverria has a criminal record of first-degree sodomy from juvenile court and was on probation at the time of the crash.
Remember when that executed Mexican’s body was returned to Mexico for burial a couple of weeks ago?
He was treated as if he were a HERO upon his return, instead of the cop killer he should remember as. Even John Kerry tried to stop the execution.
