I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that, despite our best efforts, this nation has simply become too mind-numbingly stupid to survive much longer.

I wonder why Palin and Mark Levin sat this one out.
John C is one of sneakest K street crooks and amnesty trolls in DC.
He could have been taken out.

Palin, and perhaps to a much lesser extent Levin, might've helped, but when the counting's done > Texas owns this.

And I say that, sadly, as someone who really admires that 'whole 'nother country'.

I thought he was from Florida?

The only thing more despicable than expecting people to vote for you because of your family name is expecting people to vote for you because of your race. He was a twofer.

Apparently he’s going to be the next whatever, so we get a chance to see what he’s made of.. I am a bit put-off by this name association problem..

None of us picked our parents, or our names, so I tend to give the person a bit of latitude before I draw my own conclusions based on their merits..

I’ve read his profile, as I am sure you have, and I find it commendable and pretty straight forward, and he did win the primary, so why not wait and see? Jus sayin..

>> securing the Republican nomination for the little-known but powerful post of Texas land commissioner. <<

It seems this posts exists to provide a cushy taxpayer funded job and a stepping stone for higher political office. Someone should start a petition drive to amend the Texas state constitution and abolish the office in the November election. My state doesn't have a "land commissioner" (elected OR appointed), and gets along fine without one. Land management and mine & mineral rights are handled by the Department of Natural Resources.

I read once about some guy who was "elected" to an office that voters abolished on the very same ballot. Nice irony there. If you can't get rid of the Bushes, get rid of their positions of power.

If Cornyn won against the endorsement of Cruz and others he would be even worse.

I think only Gohmert or Ron Paul could have beaten him in a runoff. Look at Vega and the Hispanic who ran against Abbott. Cornyn would have gained a few points.

But Gohmert, King and Lamar need to undermine Gowdy and Goodlatte on the judiciary.

Cornyn hasn’t actually gone for final cloture on amnesty since 2005. Schumer and McCain complained his amnesty lite plan was a poison pill.

It will be harder for him to push amnesty at this point in time. He’ll come up with some stupid idea in 2015 and if the stupid idea gets 218 House votes and 60 Senate votes I dont know if this primary alone will be the reason.

The Arizona House Republicans and most Texas Republicans are against amnesty. Even Farenthold doesn’t seem in that much of a rush.

shouldn’t we be putting well funded who can win elections into office and shouldn’t we be happy about it?.....the alternative of putting in weak candidates and having another leftist rat elected is not a good outcome....and lets face it...if you follow local politics, these rats stick together no matter what...

I hope he loses in November!!

If he loses then we will lose the Governorship too because it will mean that Democrats voted in high numbers. Losing Bush for a Wendy is not worthwhile.

"I will not vote for a Bush family member, just because his name is Bush.

You, of course, have every right to vote for whomever you wish, for whatever reason. It seems to me, though, that it's far better to vote based on policy, rather than name.
