The recent entrance of Bob Beauprez makes for a total of seven Republicans now vying for the nomination for Governor of Colorado.
Out of that group no one has emerged as a clear favorite, said veteran Republican strategist Katy Atkinson.
Atkinson thinks had Beauprez jumped in earlier he might have cleared the field like Cory Gardner has essential done in the United States Senate race.
His entry doesnt have the same impact as Cory Gardners does, said Atkinson.
Former Congressman Tom Tancrado, the most controversial candidate, is the front-runner right now.
As a tea partyer he doesnt have to worry about Beauprez siphoning any of his votes both other candidates do.
This is the second time Tancredo and Beauprez have run for governor.
Atkinsin said the partys problem, in part, is that they have a bench one deep in Cory Gardner.
I think the Republican Party needs to take one of two statewide seats, said Atkinson who feels the party risks maintaining vitality and relevance otherwise.
Beauprez, who lost in large part due to self-inflicted wounds in 2006, said hes a different candidate today.
Not everything in my life gone perfectly. Ive stubbed toe a couple times and 2006 was one of the toughest. But you learn from mistakes and I think thats book of that book of experience that I bring, said Beauprez.
Beauprez made his announcement on the day of the precinct caucuses.
He, like many candidates, is bypassing the caucus system which allows the party to choose the candidates and petitioning to get on the ballot.
He needs 1,500 signatures from each of the seven congressional districts by the end of the month.
The primary is the end of June.
Colorado is devolving into the nation’s cesspool.Drugs, decadence and dependence.
Tancredo for Governor of Colorado
Send love, money and kisses
It would be the greatest thing that could happen for the Mountain West

Tom Tancredo to Tea Partiers: Thank God John McCain Lost
Tancredo, best known for his hard-line stance against illegal immigration, also said the theoretical McCain administration would have already held a bill signing ceremony outside the White House with Rep. Luis Gutierrez, an Illinois Democrat who previously worked with McCain on an unsuccessful overhaul of U.S. immigration laws that would have provided a path to citizenship for some of the illegal immigrants residing in the U.S.
We would not be here if McCain had won, he said. What happened to us in that last election was really a revolution
There is a woman named Roni Sylvester that we should watch.
Is she one of the seven candidates the article refers to?
IOW, the RINOS will back the Senate nominee unless a "moderate" wins the gubernatorial nomination.
I think so. Heard her speak online. Read some stuff she wrote. I like her. She’s rounding up the rural vote.

Ping.
Our CO precinct went 100% for Scott Gessler. Several participants had met him and praised him highly.
This article is evidence that many are fighting against it.
True. However there are those of us in the staunchly conservative areas that still intent to fight
Tancredo needs to sit down and shut up. He gave the governor chair to the dems last election. Enough conservatives and tea partiers are angry with him that he is going nowhere, and can do nothing but cost us another statewide election by splitting the party further. And the damage was incalculable. Gov. Chickenlooper, whom Tancredo helped elect, gave us same day voter registration, ensuring multiple dem votes for every illegal in the state. Tancredo needs to go away.
Thank you for that link.
Oh please.
Dan Maes had nothing to do with it?
I pray to God Tancredo wins.
I wouldnt support him again either, but Tancredo jumping in when he did just split the party and made things worse. I think they all need a time out.
Who would you propose?
I have not studied the field in depth yet, but Tancredo is a one note wonder who has split the party too many times and can only lose the race for us not win it. I’d rather hold my nose and vote for Beauprez.
BTW thats not saying I thing Beauprez is a good idea.
