Russia could reduce to zero its economic dependency on the United States if Washington agreed sanctions against Moscow over Ukraine, a Kremlin aide said on Tuesday, warning that the American financial system faced a "crash" if this happened.

"We would find a way not just to reduce our dependency on the United States to zero but to emerge from those sanctions with great benefits for ourselves," said Kremlin economic aide Sergei Glazyev.

He told the RIA Novosti news agency Russia could stop using dollars for international transactions and create its own payment system using its "wonderful trade and economic relations with our partners in the East and South."

And yes, the Rooskis could certainly do it, considering the vast size of their territory and natural resources.

Putin holds all the cards, and its a royal flush.

Last evening before I shut him off, BOR was ranting about how unstable the Ruble was. He said the US could destroy their currency and undermine their financial system. I howled. I said to my wife the largest debtor nation in the world is going to do that to a creditor nation, one which recently made ovatures to have the dollar removed from the world as its reserve currency. Furthermore, a few countries joined that move? Right Bill, keep on dreaming. The night before he was yelling over Col Hunt, a guy I admire, telling him about our options when Hunt was basically saying we have not many and without Europe would have a tough time sanctioning them. What an opinioned jackass.

I agree, the Russians actually hold all the cards, and the MSM and Administration doesn’t understand that at all.

With all the overtures of many nations to drop the dollar as a world currency...the economic toll will be on us! No one is talking about Russia’s allies from China to Iran to Venezuela and points in Africa/Egypt.

Putin has done a darn good job actually planning for the reemergence of Russia as a major player on the world stage.

Obama and his regime has been totally blindsided and their ignorance stands in their way.

I said elsewhere that Gog is on the move. And the eagle doesn’t fly again until Damascus falls. This whole thing from Iran to Syria to the Ukraine...it is all related.

They have been looking at the BRICS solution for over a year now. This is just what I thought they would do if pushed further. Buckle up.

Nobody in their right mind thinks leftists are in their right mind.

As far as I’m concerned, I wish the world would stop buying our debt. It’s obvious we’re a bad risk and getting worse. Right now they’re just being “enablers” so our politicians can keep their snouts in the trough.

Conventional wisdom used to be that a country that is self sufficient and secure can thrive whatever the situation.

It seems that somebody/something that is beyond the grasp of Obama's Palace Media, has left them scrambling to find the wordity with which to keep The One, Dear Leader, Obama, elevate-able.
