Two angles on the GOP not wanting to confront this -
one, they hate the Tea Party as much or more than the ‘rats do, and definitely more than they hate the ‘rats.
two, if this becomes incontrovertible, they will be required to DO something about it.
I agree with number one, but I think number two will never come to pass because the press is willing to cover up for their boy President.
Most LIVs I have mentioned this to are surprised to hear that one of the Articles of Impeachment (Article Two) against Richard Nixon was exactly this tomfoolery with the IRS, and he didn’t actually do any of this stuff because the IRS told him to pound sand.
They just walk away muttering when I ask, “If it was good enough to kick Richard Nixon out of office, then why shouldn’t we hold Obama to the same standard?”
