On a vote of 22-17, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today approved a resolution determining that IRS official Lois Lerner waived her 5th amendment rights when at a May 22, 2013 hearing she offered testimony and answered questions.
So you mean if Lerner testified before, then she’s not able to ever claim the 5th?
Also people are criticizing Darrel Issa a lot here, but what else could he have done in today’s testimony other than continue to read each of his revealing questions for the public record. She then declared the 5th every time, but I just don’t know how he could have done better. Or who would have done better under these circumstances?
