Add “vacation-destroyer” to the list of unflattering barbs being hurled at Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The ongoing crisis between Ukraine and Russia has placed President Obama’s family vacation plans in jeopardy, according to a new report.
Obama and the First Lady were scheduled to head to Miami on Friday for an event focusing on education, Politico reported, and the couple’s daughters were planning to join them afterward for a weekend trip in the area.
But, due to the continuing international crisis sparked by Russia’s troops moving into Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, the first family may have to cancel their trip.
“The President had planned to stay in South Florida with his family for the remainder of the weekend,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told Politico. “However, it is possible the President may return to the White House on Friday as events unfold in Ukraine.”
Tensions in Eastern Europe rose Thursday after Obama signed an executive order that gave the U.S. the ability to freeze the assets of certain Russian and Ukrainian individuals and companies.
Earlier in the day, Crimea’s parliament voted to join Russia, with the Moscow-backed government setting a referendum on the decision in 10 days.
Putin is not only a bully, he is heartless!!!

Oh the horrors! Those poor clerks at the golf course and resorts in Europe just missing an opportunity in their lifetimes to serve Chewbacca and Jarjar.
It isn’t canceled. A lady called Rush this afternoon and said all the arrangements are made for a vaca in the keys. Five houses rented. Airport shutdown and golf course closed to others.
This is all BS to gin up pity for the Vacation family.
A female caller to Rush today said the President is going to the Florida Keys.
An exclusive community which has its own airstrip, which will be closed for the weekend, along with the golf course. Five homes have been rented for the President’s entourage in the community.
If I had a home there, I would be PO’d.
Thank goodness I always have a box of Kleenex on my desk.
I’ll bet the First Non Lady still goes away with the girls.
Actually, I doubt the Destroyer-in-Chief will miss his vacation. I hear he has a phone.
