Jewish comedian Stephen Glickman late Wednesday accused Burbank, California, comedy club Flappers of cancelling his all-Jewish pre-Purim show, scheduled for this Sunday, because club management did not want its venue used to support Israel.
On Twitter, Glickman said: The Purim stand up show at @FlappersComedy has been cancelled because the owners said they do not support benefits that support Israel.
Everyone should have the right to believe what they want but a COMEDY CLUB being ANTI ISRAEL is disgraceful and as a Jewish man I am hurt! he wrote on Twitter.
Glickman told his 283,000 Twitter followers: Ill be reaching out to my friends @JDLdotORG @ADL_National and @TMZ to expose @FlappersComedy for being Anti Israel.
He responded to a question from fellow comedian Chris Neff: @chrisneffcomedy: WTF happened bro? @FlappersComedy cancelled a Jewish stand-up show because they dont want to support Israel. So insane.
On the Flappers Comedy Club website, another show, headlined by Comedy Central comedian Tom Clark, had replaced Glickmans pre-Purim event for the Sunday night, 7PM slot.
At the time of publication, the club had yet to respond to an emailed query from The Algemeiner.
Glickman, a Canadian, is also an actor and fashion designer. He is best known for playing Gustavo Rocque on the Nickelodeon television series, Big Time Rush, from 2009 to 2013.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I think that's fine, it's also fine to publicize their positions, customers can choose accordingly.
Well, Stephen Glickman, when you own the club you can make the decisions. Until then, shut up and tell the jokes.
Why should he shut up? He’s allowed to voice his opinion.
So he doesn't even have the right to complain?
The comedy club released a statement say, “Jews and humor just don’t mix.”
Yea! and make him wear a yellow star and a tattoo so other comedy clubs will know not to hire him!
you know...cuz he probably eats bread made with the blood of children!
Hey why not right? Not like JOOOZZZZZ have rights or anything.
What would happen if this same club refused to do anything that supports gay rights?
Tell that to Henny Youngman, Jackie Mason, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Lenny Bruce, George Burns, Gilda Radner, Moe Howard, Howard Stern, Mel Brooks, Kinky Friedman etc. etd etc.
Well, obviously the club does have a sense of humor after all. That Jews and humor don’t mix proves how absolutely hilarious the comedy club is.
Jawohl! Die Juden sind nicht lustig . . .
This guy might be right but crying racism (or antisemitism) every time something doesn’t goes your way cheapens the word when its something actually serious.
Plus its not his club, so deal with it.
Don't know their clientele, but it's a club in LA which I assume is a for profit entity, they wouldn't dream of that for obvious reasons.
I made a list of comedians who are not Jewish or Canadian. I only have two names, Bob Hope and Steve Martin.
Apparently when you own a club you can only make the decisions if they are politically popular ones, i.e. cake shop owners who don’t support same-sex alliances cannot.
I have some news for the Jewish community: as much as the media and the mass culture HATES Bible believing Christians, let me warn you....the Jews are also despised.
Doesn’t really matter if you’re orthodox or conservative or reform or agnostic or “JINO”, the world ALSO hates you.
Bible believing Christians, while having significant theological differences with you, are GREAT friends of the Jewish people, thinking of them as forefathers in faith and as neighbors. Bible believing Christians support Israel whole heartedly.
Obama and the Democrat party and the media....love the money and votes your provide, and despise your heritage.
All you have to do is look at the last Democrat convention and see how the delegates on the floor treated Israel....

By the way, the powers of the Democrats, liberals, and media despise Christians and Jews....and don’t much care for independents, independent-thinking blacks, or small businessmen either.
Obviously he doesn’t know the history of the Borcht Belt, or the Catskills in NY - where people like Mort Sahl, Milton Berle, Shecky Green, George Allen (born Nathan Birnbaum), and on and on and on worked the summer seasons. Oh, sorry, they were Jewish. So who is this narish to come out and say Jews and humor don’t mix?
George Burns. His wife was Gracie Allen.
hehe
Gracie appreciates the hat tip!
