Unemployment claims came out, and WOW!
So even though our economy is down, it's still up. Or were up, but still down. Whatever its all good, because your neighbor pays.
And its another example of the stupid math liberals use to mask reality.
The unexciting nature of the newest unemployment claims is papering over all of the downward revisions that we are seeing in other areas of the economy.
For new readers the sentence above is an example of a device I employ now and again called sarcasm.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 26,000 to a seasonally adjusted 323,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday, reports Reuters. That was the lowest level since the end of November and the drop more than unwound the prior week's rise.
Im surprised they didnt blame the unusually low number of new claims on the weather.
After all, Im thinking slackers are more likely to find themselves in the unemployment line, thus theyd be less likely to go out in the cold first and then wait in the unemployment line.
Whatever the number unwound, the number doesnt make up for the huge downward revision to private sector job creation estimates that came out this week.
Previously January job creation, estimated at 175,000 jobs, was subsequently revised downward to 127,000, an overestimation of about 38 percent.
And Februarys reports look positively balmy now in comparison.
Businesses added 139,000 jobs in February private payroll processor ADP said Wednesday, reports USAToday, adding to concerns that the labor market continued to struggle last month amid extreme winter weather.
So, because of the downward revisions to previous over generous guesstimates for January the Associated Press was still able to write that a private survey shows that U.S. companies added slightly more jobs in February than in the previous month.
So even though we are down, were still up.
This is the logical conclusion when we call taxes revenues, and seek to grow the economy by taxing and welfare spending.
All you have to do now is overestimate your initial estimate, trumpet that number, cut your estimate later, and then trumpet the new overestimation to make sure everything looks like a runaway freight train, disgiused as a trainwreck.
And if that sounds familiar, it's because it is.
This is that same kind of advance math functions that theyve used to make sure that Affordable healthcare now costs U.S. taxpayers $27,000 for every Hawaiian enrollee.
But its OK, because someone else is paying.
And behind all of these great numbers are real people who cant find a job, or lost a job, or are making less than they used to because of some stupid math game that liberals like must play to make their alternate reality work.
And despite what Democrat Harry Reid says, people arent lying about the hurt theyre under.
Imagine this: Your business has 6 dedicated employees, who have worked for you between 9 to 12 years, writes one Ransom Notes listener about Obamacare, hardly ever missing a day. Family plan health care ran between $1000.00, to $1200.00 per month, per man. Affordable at this point. Estimated payroll, monthly [was] 36600.00, give or take a grand or two depending on hours worked each week. In 9 months, the premium doubled. I have had to 50/50 the plan, they pay half, I pay half, just so I could keep my men. Imagine paying $ 2400.00 per month, for 12 months, and never going to the doctors office.
Or how about this one: I lost an excellent health care plan when Blue Cross canceled it due to Obamacare, reports another reader. The replacement plan they offered cost $9,000/year more which I could not afford, so I have a lesser quality plan and for the first time ever a $5,700 deductible for each member of my family.
Wow! Thats some affordability.
That is if up is still down, and your neighbor pays.
And with numbers like that, no wonder Reids lying.
Welcome to Acirema where the criminals are rewarded with citizenship and the law-abiding are branded criminals for legaly owning guns.
Welcome to Acirema where the SCOTUS rules a fee is a tax and DeathCare outweighs religious principles.
Welcome to Acirema where unemployment doesn’t include people who don’t have a job and those that have good jobs are vilified.
Acirema sucks!
“And with numbers like that, no wonder Reid is lying.”
Progressives do not lie or do anything immoral as long as they further the agenda and the revolution.
So to accuse Mr. Reid of lying is an empty and untrue accusation because he is not lying; he is furthering the agenda and can do no immoral acts as long as he does so.
Progressives (in the electorate, the media, government, or wherever) exist in a parallel universe where the rules of physics do not apply.
IMHO
the GOP needs to run ads displaying the homes and wealth that our so called liberal leaders own. and they are the ones who want to take care of the poor?
You know better then that. And by the way you forgot the quotation marks in “Progressives”. They are anything but.
(Sniffle) "Tolerant and compassionate" Dems like Harry know that the most expensive h/care is delivered the last three years of life...so younger Americans will have to foot the bills for older Americans.
O/CARE GLITCH Too bad, those signing up for Obamacare are the least desired demographic---the sick and the elderly which Obama demands millenials subsidize.
CASE IN POINT Sen Harry Reid, 74, recently said that enrolling in O/Care is costly. But Harry says his coverage is "age-related.
For sure, aging, decrepit Sen Harry will necessitate expensive medical care for diseases of old age including the ones he's being treated for now--- senility, Alzheimer's, dementia, arthritis, osteoarthritis, heart problems, heart attacks, stroke, kidney failure, prostate enlargement, osteoporosis (brittle bones)....etc.
Course, just in case ol' Harry hangs in there, Obamacare's I-PAB kicks in to ration medical care when stubborn old buzzards like Harry insist on getting more healthcare than millenials feel he is entitled to.
=====================================
Heck, Harry's dam lucky he represents arid Nevada. If he represented Alaska, the cheapest way to off him would be to park him on an ice floe w/ the rest of the older, sick Eskimos----floating out into the frigid Arctic Ocean wearing a sealskin coat, bearskin shorts, and a pair of mukluks.

Obama promised trusting Americans to have open, televised discussions about health care reform---just as he promised Americans they could keep their affordable plans. Instead, Dem honchos met in secret---excluding Republicans from any input into the health care debate).

FASHION NOTE: WHAT WELL-DRESSED LOCK-
STEPPING DEMOCRATS ARE WEARING
THIS ELECTION SEASON
DNC-ISSUE BROWN SHIRTS.

BTW, Obamacare was preceded by Hillarycare----which went down in flames b/c Hillary held secret meetings.
POLITICAL NOTES ----In 2009, retiring Arkansas Democrat Rep. Marion Berry presciently warned that ObamaCare was setting up the Democrats for a huge 2010 midterms defeat (just like HillaryCare had led to a loss of 54 House seats in 1994).
Ego-driven Obama scoffed at such concerns. Berry said the president told him, Well, the big difference here and in 94 was youve got me.
END GAME Republicans went on to win 63 House seats and six Senate seats. It was the largest swing in the House since 1938. Looks like the "difference" was Obama (/snix).
It’s liberal math:
Yesterday we reported 3+3=8. Today we find 3+3=7, and that is more correct than yesterday figures.
Go over to DU and look at some of the articles where they regularly reveal an Alice in Wonderland world where increased minimum wages causes more jobs and a stronger economy, where higher taxes makes for a stronger economy, and on, and on, and on. They have all kinds of triumphant rebuffs to the real world there.
Obamacare and shaking down the ill. Cowards. And people still vote for Hillary. Stupid is as stupid does.
I suppose shaking down business, coworkers and tax payer is a business.
“GOP needs to run ads displaying the homes and wealth that our so called liberal leaders own. and they are the ones who want to take care of the poor?”
You know that’s a very good idea. Their hypocrisy astounds med.
.
That sounds very much like the muslim practice of “taquiya” (or however it’s spelled). Lying to non-believers is perfectly acceptable; in fact, it’s encouraged.
Can’t go to DU, my stomach is not strong enough.
“Lying to non-believers is perfectly acceptable.”
It’s no wonder that they feel a special affinity for each other.
IMHO
We really need to start talking about the Democrats’ “War Against the Sick”. It’d be different from the “War Against Women” claim in one important way... it’s true.
We switched to a high deductible plan and a HSA to pay co-pays and deductibles out of.
So far, Zerocare hasn't shut that down...(Knock on wood).
