"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Listening to Christie, his remark that we’ve got to WIN ELECTIONS kept bouncing around in my alleged brain.
When Americans were a far, far different people, electing folks who shared values with which the Founders could  — with notable exceptions — identify was fairly simple and routine.
The problem — and I fear it may be terminal — is that WE ARE NO LONGER THAT PEOPLE!
Christie’s  remark — and it has been echoed by others who hold themselves out to be “conservatives” — should terrify all who cherish freedom:  What  they’re saying between the lines is that to win sufficient votes to gain office, a candidate must abandon Constitutional, freedom based conservative/libertarian principles and appeal to the growing hoards of TAX CONSUMERS who are not about to give up the free s**t  the Dems dispense to keep them on their welfare plantation!
That begs a very important question:  If that IS where we are and will continue to go, what in God’s name is the use of saving the geographic place on the globe called America if  America — THE IDEA — has been abandoned by the bulk of her “citizens” (and I use the term with tongue in cheek)???
I shall restrain myself from ranting about the role GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS have played in our demise.
Just askin’ a question here.  Attack me for doing so if you must.

Ted Cruz is the ideal candidate Conservatives have been hoping and praying for for years but despairing of ever having the opportunity to vote for.

So here he is, and all Conservatives have to do is get behind him. United we stand, divided we’ll fall if we break off into factions before 2016 to support the Rand Pauls and Marco Rubios and whoever else’s ego compels him or her to crowd the Republican field, thereby splitting the Conservative vote in the primaries and handing the 2016 nomination to another Mitt Romney, if not Mitt Romney himself, because the RINOs and their supporters like Karl Rove understand the importance of focusing on and directing funds to a single RINO candidate.

Can principled Conservatives stick together to support Ted Cruz? That is the question.
