Wikipedia:
Hemp (from Old English hænep) is a commonly used term for high growing varieties of the Cannabis plant and its products, which include fiber, oil, and seed. Hemp is refined into products such as hemp seed foods, hemp oil, wax, resin, rope, cloth, pulp, paper, and fuel.

“Dinesh D’Souza. . . who is out on $500,000 bond for allegedly violating campaign finance laws. . . “

Ha! That alone proves that he is no D’Emocrat!

I think that George Washington was in fact killed, accidentally by his physician. Interesting man, certainly the greatest American ever. He would not scratch an itch if he had to scratch it through clothing — that’s the kind of discipline he had. He was a good dancer, a military genius, an expert surveyor, and a shrewd businessman. Sure, he grew hemp, distilled spirits, hanged derelicts, and employed Alexander Hamilton. So what?

Washington easily could have been killed in the battle of Princeton early in 1777. The equestrian statue of Washington in Washington, DC, represents him in this battle.

Whether the war could have been won without his leadership, God only knows.

Yes, that is correct. Washington was not growing hemp to smoke it.

I’m sorry. I grew up with elderly grandparents who were not too far removed from Lincoln and the Civil War. Daddy once said that slavery was on the way out due to the proliferation of automation. Sorry. I don’t see Lincoln as a hero; that was a useless war.

I love it when FReepers pop in and tell us all how “most of us” are.

Irrelevant, according to Raich.

I agree with that assessment — those that assert that slavery could only be ended by war are idiots, ignorant of history (see William Wilberforce).

Even if Washington had died and we had lost the war, it seems inevitable to me that we would have broken free from the British eventually. America had simply become too large and populous to control so far from the British Isles.

I was surprised to see D’Souza’s “2016:Obama’s America” played full-length and apparently unedited (except for commercial breaks) on the TVGuide Channel on the local Comcast Cable system a few weeks back - pretty potent anti-Obama info to be played out in the open for everyone to see by Comcast.....

That was a laugh...

Are you suggesting we have conservative statists on board?

No, the poster in question isn’t “banned.” He posted that in his profile to make it look like he was.

Oldest trick in the book.

Hemp was the oil in the engine of commerce up until the advent of the steam engine.

Yes TJ partook of the First Gift. It is such a useful plant, the only thing criminal about it is, it being declared criminal!

“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
“If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.”
TJ the original American Gangster!

Every time the Drug Nazis kick in someones door, they kick in TJ's!
