How do you propose we go about finding and rounding up 12 million people and deporting them?

You make it impossible for them to get work and then you ask them to leave. In the interim, you cut off all government benefits.

Most of them will eventually self deport.

I realize that subsidizing something creates more of it, and do not think the taxpayer should be forced to pay for welfare, medical care and other expenses for illegal immigrants. Once the subsidies for illegal immigration are removed, the problem will likely become far less common.

Which is why I wrote “Deportation by attrition” and part of that read as “those that come in contact with law enforcement, social services, medical services, any type of government agency and are found to be here illegally, they will be deported.”
