A crash during a hijacking would certainly be a possibility, but I would think that such a scenario would involve something that was NOT a sudden loss of contact without any indication of trouble.

How's this for a wild, wacky theory /sarcasm off/ ...

Maybe the aircraft was shot down by a naval vessel conducting military exercises in the area? Where have we heard that before?

I keep thinking of the movies where something has to happen before you get in some other countries airspace.

You see it all the time in the movies.

So what was significant about Vietnamese airspace?? How does it go missing just 1 minute before their airspace?

And is that where the Jet was turned around?
