Jay Leno was blindly ignorant and bigoted in matters of American civics. Even while making fun of everyday folks for their lack of knowledge in U.S. history, Jay would frequently reveal his own illiteracy on the topic. By living exclusively within the entertainment terrarium, he did not realize how isolated and stale that his social cognizance had become. So 85% of the time, his comedy was clever. And 15% of the time, he made himself look like an unenlightened boob.

In comparison to whom? Who's the talk show host who was that much better than Leno? Jack Paar? Sure, I guess, but that before many of us were born. Not Letterman to be sure. Not Kimmel. Not Colbert. Stewart, maybe, if he worked harder at it than he actually does.

Not Carson -- for all that he's wildly overrated, his gifts were very different from what Baisely demands. Dick Cavett? Again, that was a long time ago, and while he was good with people who inhabited the same cultural/intellectual bubble as he did, I wouldn't expect Cavett to show much respect for Sarah Palin (who knows, though, he might at least have better manners than more recent talk show hosts).

Usually, media people make too much of showbiz folks. They don't hold them up to any kind of standard. Baisley, though, holds up too high a standard for any mere talkmeister to measure up to. It is entertainment, after all, and someone who was a whiz at civics and civility would never make it to the top of that tree.

Some people find Fallon smug. I think he’s extremely insecure, so he acts like a little boy and expects people to love him. That also gets on some people’s nerves.

But Jay fell short in one area that became a reliable source of annoyance five nights per week for me and several million other patriots.

So the author continued to watch Leno anyway. What an idiot.

And, really? He’s giving advice like this to Fallon after Fallon’s first show was Obamanacious, from what I have read. Double idiot.

The only people I know that like Fallon are young females. Fallon isn’t funny, and doesn’t possess talent.

Don’t know about the female demographic but the rest of your comment is spot on.

Jimmy Fallon was hired as a hit man for the democrats. His smarmy look plastered on his face all the time shows he really enjoys undermining America and promoting the democrat/socialists line.

He also shows up at Yahoo website several times a week plus we get to see him in commercials and quoted in Reader Digest (along with every liberal you can name).

Did you read the article. There is mention made that Christie Creme was not responsible for the GW Bridge Gate. I disagree.

I don’t care for him. I don’t know why.

Could it be because he's a sniveling hack, utterly devoid of talent, about whom it could be fairly said that that he is a stunted pygmy trying to walk in the shoes of towering giants who came before him (notably, Johnny Carson)?

Because that's what I see when I see Jimmy Fallon, something that occurs only infrequently.

Fallon looks like a young Lieutenant we used to have in our unit who got hooked on Amway. He was an engaging guy, had a great work ethic, and he knew his job in a tank battalion. But, gosh, did he become an annoyance.

There’s something about harping on issues that no one wants to hear that makes you impossible to be heard when you speak on important things.

If it were a radiation reading, you’d say something like “This guy is radiating 2000 points of annoyance.”

Low expectations. Look at all the crap that passes for entertainment these days. Mindless pap. I watch almost no TV any more. There is one show I watch regularly on NBC and that is more out of habit than anything else. I’d rather watch old TV series on Netflix. At least those shows, perhaps cheesy by today’s standards, had a plot.
