Can’t have the kiddies waiting for the bus in the dark.. /sarc

The whole "kids waiting for the bus in the dark" meme amuses me. Each morning I take my dog for a walk through the neighborhood and every parent with a school age kid personally drives the kid to the bus stop. I see them every morning with their mini-vans idling, as their precious kid sits in the passenger seat tapping away on their cellphones, texting the kid in the idling mini-van right behind them.

Then the big lumbering yellow bus pulls up and not until it comes to a complete stop do the scowling and pouting kids finally shuffle out of the mini-vans - in their flip-flops - eyes downcast upon their phones - and clamber onto the bus.

Doesn't matter if it's sunny and 75 degrees or dark and 10 degrees. It's the same sad routine each and every morning.
