Two stolen passports, the subject of intense scrutinty by investigators, were used by two men identified as Iranian nationals, but new information tends to discount terrorism as a motive.
The international police agency released photos showing the two boarding the plane at the same time. They are identified as 19-year-old Pouri Nourmohammadi and 29-year-old Delavar Seyedmohammaderza.
Malaysian Police Inspector General Khalid Tan Sri says the 19-year-old was likely trying to migrate to Germany.
"We have been checking his background. We have also checked him with other police organizations on his profile, and we believe that he is not likely to be a member of any terrorist group," the inspector told reporters. "And we believe that he is trying to migrate to Germany."
Khalid said Nourmohammadi's mother knew he was traveling on a stolen passport.
The other man's identity is still under investigation. But the development reduces the likelihood they were working together as part of a terror plot.
Meanwhile, an extensive review of all of those on board continues.

No more than they could possibly have established that “there’s nothing to see here, move along.” Makes one wonder doesn’t it?
How much time does the pilot have to send a “MAYDAY” from a plane heading down?
How much time does the pilot have to send a “MAYDAY” after an onboard explosion?
I agree it was probably a bad way to print out the photos(maybe they were rushing whomever was operating the computer/printer), but I think they didn’t show the lower half in the picture on the right, because there was no lower half to the picture.
Both pictures are of differing heights and widths. Here’s a link with both pictures slightly larger.
seems to have a pretty good overview of systems, but no answers
If we can use GPS to track pets, white sharks and kids, how can seemingly redundant technology lose an entire aircraft?
The other part (ELT) starts when sufficient g-forces are applied, it is battery operated.
Well, the cockpit voice recorder sure will be interesting, whenever all this is over.
Depends on the 'why'. In full power dive @ 500kts 35K 42 secs to impact.
How much time does the pilot have to send a MAYDAY after an onboard explosion?
Depends on his airspeed and structural damage caused by the explosion. 500kts and structural failure, 0 secs.
“This was not a large bomb which brought the 7 down. It was though the reason the flight was delayed for a few minutes as it was being set to blow out electrical, communication and hydrallic systems for a quick drop.
The bomb which brought down the Brazilian flight as was covered here was much larger. This was a tactical C 4 placement of explosives and it cut this plane off and killed it quickly.”
You mean something like the above happened?
Nahhhhh... I didn’t read about it in the msm?
Those two Iranian passengers carrying stolen passports were seeking to immigrate to Germany yet travelled with only backpacks

RE: Those two Iranian passengers carrying stolen passports were seeking to immigrate to Germany
Just curious as to how they intend to get there with a plane flying to Beijing...
If they haven’t even found the wreckage, how can they rule it out? Smells fishy.
They don’t look “Asian”?
they were booked on the continuation leg of the flight, to Europe (Frankfurt?)
>>>Holy cr@p! The name `mohammed is buried in BOTH names! This was aerial jihad, count on it. <<<
It's some sort of super secret code, like selecting a password of "password".
That makes some sense. What concerns me and what generated my comment is the rush to reach the conclusion that this wasn’t an act of terror or terrorists. Our government seems to be determined (see Benghazi) to reach any conclusion about any event anywhere other than it was an act of terror because they’re approach isn’t working.
Interpol is in CYA mode. After all, they let the fraudulent passport through.
