Strangely, in that era when Yuri Gagarin became the first man in orbit, Soviet citizens, and even party officials had no toilet paper. My wife was a Lenin Pioneer and she said party congress records and other published paper was used. There were also no feminine hygiene products and even the elite car driving class (her parents had a car) used cloth rags.
