At first read, yes, it does sound very petty, very Bloombergish, but think about why this is happening. If she attracts bears in that area, the bears may get over their fear of people and then start attacking folks or destroying their property. It’s sad that she wouldn’t listen and abide by the Judge’s reasonable conditions. Second best would be if she could move in with someone near, but not too near that area of bear habitation. Some seniors will pick a particular thing and double or ‘triple down’ on NOT CHANGING or doing things their way without regard to the results, or effects on their health.

Sounds like my 100+ yo mother! Although she's very sharp in many ways, I see changes in her behavior that I find unexplainable.

Oh, for sure. There’s thousands of examples of bears attacking people because they ate bread crumbs. I’m sure you won’t have a problem giving us a dozen or so examples of bears eating people because they associated bread crumbs with yummy human arms and legs.

I can hardly wait...
