savage #4...?!
I remember when he was a night sub at KGO. I used to follow him closely and loved him. He was later at KSFO, and then went national. Then he basically went nuts.
He’s a terrible boss —extremely mean and vindictive. He’s also politically unreliable. Good story teller? Absolutely.
Rush is pure class and LOYAL to his people —any of his people. Does not surprise me at all that his maid was scoring pills for him back when he had that problem —people who KNOW Rush can’t help but love him. I mean, ANYONE that gives him a chance. He overpays them and loves them, nurtures them.
Back in Sacramento when he was nobody it was cool in town to marginalize and insult Rush —there was simple envy, but it was ideology also.
He was poor and when he tried to drive to Tahoe (high in mountains) his beater boat car overheated. He lived in Rio Linda (that’s an actual place and I will aver that it’s a sh*thole) cuz he couldn’t afford anywhere else —it was that bad. He was invited to a fancy dinner in Granite Bay, that’s where Sacramentans live if they’re super rich:
They were all powerful and influential, and Rush at first thought it was a lucky break —he was flattered and honored. The host —a media big-shot— pushed everything off the conversational plate at this dinner party and spent THE ENTIRE DINNER telling Rush how stupid he was and how his show would NEVER succeed.
And Rush showed class, and didn’t throw a scene and get mad, and he just smiled and took it. For HOURS.
Rush’s life is a story in tenacity and heroism —I will never stop loving Rush Limbaugh, the great conqueror who never forgot his friends and was a Good Winner.
I think Rush needs to think about making a anime cartoon pilot to later complement his soon-to-be shattering success in kids books.
Woo Hoo...Armstrong and Getty were at 55. Glad they made the list. There show has been a morning joy for a long time now.
Herman Cain made it too.
Boy, doesn’t take much to get into the ones I’ve never heard of. Embarrassing to see that dolt Eddie Schultz in the top 10 for sure, but if he’s the best liberal talker it really sucks to be them.
It sucks that Larry Elder is #93.
Levin is the best.
Smerconish is #17...
/vomit
this’is so much crap.
they list sykes in milwaukee but mark belling, often a fill-in for rush, isn’t even on the list and his ratings crush sykes.
after that i don’t know any of the top 6-20 except smerconish and ingraham only because smerconish is/was local and ingraham is hot
#65 is one of my favorites.
Wow. I am not a huge fan of Hugh Hewitt (I used to really think he was a RINO), but he's nowhere to be seen.
And the omission of Dom Giordano in Philly is kinda puzzling. So is Buck Sexton, if it's not solely about ratings.
And I can think of one douchebazooka who's name I noticed that gambled his terrestrial radio job-and lost it-at being a Odinga ass kisser. He's in the top 20, and Andrew Wilkow isn't?
But the worst is the complete snub of Eric Harley & Gary McNamara , hosts of Red Eye Radio
To quote a radio legend, this list is "F--kin' ponderous, man..."
That’s gonna drive Levin nuts (not really.) Savage can be such a macaroon.
The only 3 talkers I’ll seriously give my ear to are: Levin, Limbaugh, and Bachelor. But not every personality hits my area, so I’m sure the others are good too.
Surprise Mark Levin is number 6.
Howie Carr is all the way down at number 57. He should be a little further up the list. Why is Ed Schultz even on this list?
I’ve read the list now. Who’s Bubba the Love Sponge?
How Dr. Laura has fallen! Used to be in the top 5.
Many injustices—Prager, Hewitt and Clark Howard should have been higher. Dog-in-fight man, Lars Larson doesn’t deserve to be #23, or whatever he was. Is Phil Valentine the same hack I used to listen to in the 90s? Billy the hack Cunningham doesn’t deserve to be on the list. I thought Ric Edelman was an infomercial guy. From my days listening to Air America I seem to remember liking Laura Flanders, I think that was her name. The Kennedy on Air America wasn’t bad.
I would like to put in a plug for John Carlson who does local morning drive on KVI. He makes local issues interesting, gets lots of good guests and is a tireless fighter on crime issues.
He is my favorite - after Rush.
Hey, I know #99, Steve Deace ( http://stevedeace.com/ )! :-)
