FDR to Stalin: “I Would Give Saudi King 6 Million Jews”

This isn’t really new, but some of the most interesting material comes from Rafael Medoff’s demonstration of how the material was buried and misreported by historians sympathetic to liberal presidents.

When FDR endorsed quotas for Jews in the US and even North Africa, liberal historians claimed that he was being “practical” or actually trying to help Jews. And then there’s the story of the efforts to bury and lie about FDR’s exchange with Stalin about the Jews.

I do know that after FDR turned away that ship, he increased his share of the Jewish vote from a meager 85% to 90% in the next election.

The Jews and Blacks have been in the gunsights of the Marxists for over 100 years now. Nothing surprising there.

Is there a ship mentioned that I missed in the link?

I recall hearing that that ship that returned filled with Jews trying to escape. The Joe “Papa” Kennedy played a role on that. Since he was a good friend with FDR or someone in the Administration. As we all well know whose side Papa Kennedy side with.

Franklin Diablo Roosevelt (as well as his despicable handmaiden Frances Perkins -- she of the minimum wage) was the epitome of pure evil. It was FDR was set the stage for the likes of hussein obama. For all of eternity, Roosevelt is giving a real fireside chat for the rapt ears of his like-minded pals, Joe Stalin, Ted Kennedy, Adolph Hitler, Eugene V. Debs and others of that ilk.

No, but since everyone knows which ship it was, I didn’t see the need to look up the name, the post was relevant to the article though.

Yet Jewish voters loved them, El Presidente for life, FDR, got 90% of the Jewish vote in his last two elections, and Joe Kennedy’s boy got 82%.

The ship was called the St. Louis. According to Wikipedia, 288 of the passengers were allowed to get off in the UK. Of the 619 who disembarked in Europe, 254 died in the Holocaust and 365 survived. The 619 were accepted into France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This was 1939 and no one knew that all 3 countries would be conquered by Germany in 1940.

LOL. Their "own good" being translated into keeping the solid south segregationist Democrats voting in lock step for all of FDRs socialist programs?

Thank you for a straight answer.
I left my Ouija Board in my other suit, and it has been decades since I read any in depth history of the middle East, the birth of Israel and the many ships refused access, including, of course, British refusal to allow Jewish refuges from any country to disembark in "Palestine."

Compared to the British, FDR was an amateur.

But getting back to this thread, the expected high level of ESP in FR, sometimes, is kind of cute.

when Roosevelt mentioned he would soon be seeing Saudi Arabian leader Ibn Saud, Stalin asked if he intended to make any concessions to the king; “The President replied that there was only one concession he thought he might offer and that was to give him the six million Jews in the United States.”

President Roosevelt’s passivity set the tone for American wartime policy toward the Jews. “Roosevelt was not indifferent to the plight of the Jews,” found Robert Dallek in his assessment of FDR, “On the contrary, Nazi crimes profoundly disturbed him, and he looked forward to the day when Nazi leaders would face the consequences of their actions. Yet at the same time, he saw no effective (35)way to rescue great numbers of Jews from Hitler’s Europe while the war continued.” [33] Roosevelt articulated what was to become the most popular excuse for avoiding moral responsibility: winning the war. American officials invoked this in two ways: one, that the Jews’ situation simply did not rank high on a list of priorities cluttered by direct war aims; and two, that winning the war would best save Jews, given the difficulty of rescue and resettlement. Historians have pointed to other significant factors which helped shaped Roosevelt’s policy. Foremost among these was Roosevelt’s submission to public opinion; he allowed it to interfere with the welfare of helpless Jews and with the United States’s obligation to attempt to save them. According to Wyman, when the War Refugee Board was established in January 1944, Roosevelt acted “only because he was confronted with political pressures he could not avoid and because his administration stood on the brink of a nasty scandal over rescue policies.” [34] According to historian Paul Johnson, in addition to his “purely domestic and political considerations” Roosevelt was “mildly anti-Semitic” and “ill-informed.” His ignorance was reflected at the Casablanca Conference in January 1943, when he alluded to the “understandable complaints which the Germans bore toward the Jews in Germany,” citing that Jews held a disproportionate amount of professional positions. [35]

Roosevelt’s primary failure was not in purposefully preventing the rescue of Jews, but in remaining silent and failing to motivate action. [36] Wyman concluded that Roosevelt, in failing in a sincere effort to save the Jews, committed the “worst failure” of his presidency. [37] In the end, it was not enough; as Holocaust historian Marty Noam Penkower wrote: “The Jews could not wait for an Allied victory. Adolf Hitler would not let them wait.” [38]
