Global Digital Solutions' unsolicited $1.08 billion bid for privately held firearms maker Remington Outdoor would more closely position Global Digital to compete with Smith & Wesson (SWHC) and Sturm Ruger (RGR) . Global Digital, a maker of digital trigger locks and online tracking systems, estimated Remington's net sales for 2013 at $1.25 billion-$1.275 billion, according to an SEC filing late Tuesday.

Ruger currently trades at a PSR of 1.75 and SWHC trades at a PSR of 1.2 (SWHC has debt where Ruger does not)....not sure how much debt Remington has.
But all things being equal, if there is not a lot of debt on Remington's books, that .864 offer could be doubled to match Ruger's current valuation.

The company expects to derive revenue from licensing its proprietary Gatekeeper technology and from monthly database service fees. Authorized dealers would also be able to collect residual fees by enrolling subscribers into the GDSI Gatekeeper safety and security program.
In the commercial marketplace, the company emphasized that use of the encrypted locking device and other GDSI Gatekeeper safety and security features would be completely voluntary on the part of individual small arms owners and authorized dealers.
“Here in the United States, the right of the people to keep and bear arms is constitutionally protected and inviolable,” Sullivan added. “The Gatekeeper program will provide additional safety and security for law-abiding gun owners in the United States and elsewhere. We believe Gatekeeper’s secure locking and tracking features could encourage millions of people who might have shied away from keeping firearms in their homes because of safety concerns to reconsider. And collectors would be able use make use of Gatekeeper’s tracking and database features to exercise greater control over their prized firearms collections.”
How long after acquiring Remington will it be before they are lobbying to have their gatekeeper products required by law?
Any gun manufacturer which puts that in their guns will never see another dollar from me.

Just because you can put out a product that in your own mind is superior does not mean the masses will agree with you. Take the PPACA for example.
The most impartial form of democracy is the choice of the consumer. Which is why the IRS hammer was added to the PPACA for choosing to not participate. Liberals HATE freedom of choice. Obedience is required as they are smarter than everyone, better than everyone.
