Ruddy to 'Morning Joe': Newsmax Ready For Major TV Launch

Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy was featured on MSNBC's popular "Morning Joe" program on Wednesday morning to discuss the rollout plans for his company's upcoming 24/7 TV news network.

Newsmax TV, already available at NewsmaxTV.com, is the expansion of the conservative website's news gathering efforts. It also is part of a transformation that will bring TV across multiple platforms, Ruddy told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Newsmax is "one of the kings out there as far as political web sites go, especially in conservative networks,” Scarborough said.

“There are some viewers of this network who don't understand, in the conservative world, that it [Newsmax] is a massive form of communication,” added panelist Mark Halperin, senior political analyst for "Time" and author of the best-selling books, “Game Change” and “Double Down.”

Newsmax has created a lot of media buzz lately after Bloomberg Businessweek broke the story about its major expansion. And on Sunday, CNN’s “Reliable Sources” had a lengthy interview with Ruddy about the plunge into 24-hour news television.

"The story is Newsmax and the transformation that's going on in the Internet right now," Ruddy said. "We have six hours of live programming [from noon to 6 p.m.]. We're going to have 15 hours [of live shows]. The launch will be in late June or early summer."

Checking my memory:

Didn’t Ruddy write a scathing book on the murder of Vince Foster—and then get all buddy-buddy with Hillary! a few years later?

Hmmm...I guess we’ll see just how conservative it will be.

Ruddy also said he learned a lot from his own background as a "pretty hardcore, tough journalist" covering former President Bill Clinton in the 1990s. In retrospect, Ruddy said, he was wrong "on hitting Bill Clinton too hard."

that's from the article and is another example of how Ruddy is backpedaling as fast as he can from his 'conservative' days.

this Newsmax cable network or whatever you want to call it, certainly won't be promoting American exceptionalism or accused of being 'conservative', you can bet the farm on that.

“...especially in conservative networks,”
***************************
Joe and Mika are not close to being Conservatives!

Newsmax apparently thinks anyone barely slightly to the right of Pelosi, Obama, Shumer, Durbin, et al, is Conservative.

Another chat “news” network?

How hard can it be to just have people do real reporting, and then REPORT the damn story? Look at newscasts from the 50s-80s and compare them to now. You had real men and women that gave you straight news (minus a few dopes, in a flat tone that wasn’t interested in telling you what to think. No high-octane graphics, techno music, sound effects, fluff news or screaming heads.

It’s already bad enough that GBTV cant get it right.

Investigative reporting is expensive. Talking about it is not.

Yes, I lost a lot of respect for Chris when he allowed himself to be co-opted by the contemptible Clinton clan. Bob

Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey don’t think he was hit nearly hard enough.

Newsmax lost credibility when the article described the Morning Joe show as “popular”. They could have gone on Fox and been seen by three times the viewers.

Does everyone remember the cable news channel started by the Washongton Times last year? Dead in the water. Does everyone remember the conservative news channel started by Kelsey Grammer yrs ago? Dead in the water. Newsmax TV will have the same fate. The only one who is pulling it off slowly is Glenn Beck and The Blaze which is on Dish and 50 cable markets.
