Media, Dems Deny Start Of ObamaCare Tsunami In Florida

Politics: The GOP victory in a Florida congressional district that was carried by President Obama as well as by the Democratic candidate in a gubernatorial race is being explained away by Democrats and their media toadies.

Democratic spin doctors claim it wasn't exactly a case of Sink or swim in Florida-13, since the district had long been represented by a Republican. But fact is, Obama carried the purple district twice, and so did defeated congressional candidate Alex Sink when she ran for governor in 2010.

Had Republican David Jolly lost the seat, Democrats would be chirping that it proved that the people really, really want ObamaCare and that it's only GOP obstructionists scaring people away. The election would have been touted as a referendum on ObamaCare, with the president winning.

Mainstream media were no different. As the Media Research Center's Brent Bozell told Fox News' Megyn Kelly on Tuesday: "CBS last night devoted two minutes to this, which is a rather long time, calling it a referendum on ObamaCare. Tonight, when the vote was in and the Republican had defeated the Democrat on Obama-Care, how much coverage does CBS give the story? Answer: not one second."

Bozell also noted: "ABC, NBC, no story last night. No story tonight. The morning shows — this morning, this is an interesting one. They gave almost nine minutes to the interview that the president did, that goofy interview where he tried to sell ObamaCare."

Seems the media are also trying to sell ObamaCare and don't want to be the bearer of more bad news. Which also may have had something to do with the fact the Associated Press did not carry a single photo of Jolly, Sink or anything else connected with the election.

A 2% victory is hardly a landslide. Don’t count your GOP chickens before they hatch.

A 2% victory in that district against Sink is a solid victory.

Didn’t have to be a landslide.
This was a district carried by Obama twice, and was held by a dem.
Sink has a legendary rep here for raising huge sums of cash very quickly and outspent jolly at least 2 to 1, perhaps far more.
Its a good sign and another seat taken from the rats.

obamacare is an abject failure, any democrat politician clinging to it will go down in ignominious defeat.

I poste this on another thread.

Clarity:

Bill Young was the incumbent, bringer-of-pork republican who opened the seat after his untimely death. All the while, the demographics of the District has been drifting to Dems. The libertarian in the race drew about 4.5% of the vote. Dems outspent the repubs by 3:1. As a governor candidate against republican Rick Scott, she won this very district. Obama won this district twice.

I know the Dems are heavy in symbolism especially in having women and minorities in leadership positions but that also hampers them too. Is there a more clueless individual in congress than Debbie Wassermann-Schultz? She’s also proof you don’t need brains to get elected to higher office.

Absolutely agree and the Dems are realizing that also, they’re starting to break ranks.

Nancy Pelosi was pathetic-—Sink sunk her dreams of being Majority Leader again.

In response to the Jolly win-—lock-stepping Pelosi stupidly defended Democrats and saluted smartly to der leader——praising Obamacare and completely ignoring the debacle foisted on the not-amused electorate.

Fox’s Judge Andrew Napolitano commented that Pelosi deliberately mislead the public.

The blockbuster Jolly campaign ad referenced lock-stepping Dems saluting smartly to der leader.

Jolly lit into Sink’s position to fix the train wreck Obamacare.

Jolly said the district needs a rep who will defend THEIR interests-—not those of Obama.

DUMP A DUMMYCRAT ALERT The buzz is Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill) is expected to cruise to victory in his reelection bid this coming November.

BACKSTORY As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature healthcare plan---ultimately enacted, by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote, into the "Affordable Care Act"

QUOTING 2008 OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.” Repeated over and over again---- with his promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

Significantly, Obamba NEVER corrected lock-stepping Democrats, all reading from the same Democrat talking points, all of them repeating the same Democrat promises---over and over again.

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE Obama and the Dems marched in lockstep.....the persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

THIS NEEDS TO GO VIRAL-- QUOTING SEN. RICHARD DURBIN: “We believe — and we stand by this — if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward.” (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)

LOSER ALEX SINK'S QUID PRO QUO---test-marketing Hillary's 2016 message

ITEM Sink took a clear position WRT O/Care----she never voted for it but said she would go to Congress to fix it.

ITEM The week before the election, Bill Clinton starred in robocalls that went out to local Democratic volunteers.

ITEM over a half-dozen lock-stepping House Democrats in league w/ the Clintons emailed fundraising appeals on Sink’s behalf.

ITEM Sinks's "O/Care fixit" position is Hillary's O/Care position exactly.Read on.

REFERENCE---Hillary Clinton insists O/Care is too important to “turn the clock back.”
The Politico ^ | March 5, 2014 | David Nather / FR Posted by 2ndDivisionVet

In a question-and-answer session following a lecture at UCLA, Hillary Clinton suggested she’s open to different ways of achieving the health law’s goals.

Hillary praised Arkansas — the state where she and her husband rose to political fame — for carrying out a new approach to expanding Medicaid coverage, by using the federal money to buy private health insurance for more than 100,000 low-income residents.

Too, bad Hillary---back to the drawing board.
