In an interview with the Daily Beast, living legend and Oscar-winner Robert Duvall blasted the Civil Rights film "The Butler" as "very inaccurate." The 83 year-old star added, "JFK had one of the worst Civil Rights voting records," and "All the atrocities in the South were committed by the Democratic Party."

No matter what I am doing....I will stop to watch if Lonesome Dove is on. He was amazing in that role!

Sometimes when I get into this type of discussion with someone, who I realize is a liberal, and won't accept the rewriting of history of the left, I ask them, "was Jim Jones on the far left, or far right"?

After they adamantly declare the far right, I inform them that one of Jones's favorite sayings was "let those on the opiate of religion come into the enlightenment of socialism". And, that he called his church "apostolic socialism".

They never accept the truth!

I loved him in the Great Santini.

My absolutely favorite role that he ever did. Until I saw Lonesome Dove.

I just watched “Wrestling Ernest Hemingway” tonight, never saw it.

It was pretty good! (I didn’t have high expectations, and didn’t know he was in it, but my wife wanted to watch it)

My favorite was “Open Range”. Also, “Lonesome Dove” and “Secondhand Lions”.

Great Stuff!

Not to mention the fact that the lefties in San Francisco were enamored with him. Jimmy Carter even thought he had promise.

My favorite scene is when Woodrow Call rides his horse down the steet and beats the tar out of that tracker...

Southern Dems, included AlGore Sr., reject the civil rights act. Robert DuVall is going to be blacklisted in Hollyweird.

According to famed historian John Hope Franklin, Freedman in New Orleans were more likely to own slaves than whites.

Technically correct. But a lot of those were freedmen who had bought their own wives and children out of slavery, then never formally freed them. It cost money and a court appearance to do that, and you had to prove that the slave you were freeing would not become a ward of the state.

“One of my favorite Duvall film’s is “Second-hand Lions.” It’s about a kid who inherits a bunch of money from his Uncles. Just a great family movie.”

I LOVE that movie also

"was Jim Jones on the far left, or far right"?

Here is a Youtube video of him singing the English translation of the Soviet national anthem.

Yeah I was disappointed by that.

Interestingly, he's the exact same age as Clint Eastwood, who is also pro-choice.

And really, Bob? The republicans have been pro-life for roughly 40 years and you agree with them on 90+ percent of things, and you're only NOW going to vote "independent" because of that issue?

Hell, Eastwood supports gay marriage, and he wouldn't be caught dead voting for a democrat.

Nice to see someone who can afford it is taking on the liars in the Demon Rat party.

Every chance I get, I remind people that Democrats are the party of slavery, segregation, sodomy, infanticide, and subjection to government bureaucracies.

So gutsy to discuss a film that already has been in and out of the theater. Where was he during the release? So easy to slam something that is so yesterday. Such a bold guy….

Yup, he speaks the truth. Shame though he couldn’t have said this much earlier . But then he wouldn’t have worked in Hollywood again.
