Pennsylvania ping.

FWIW my Swiss-German ancestors settled in Penn’s woods in the 1740’2 and 50’s. They spoke German in their churches and in their parochial schools until the 1840’s. They continued to speak German in their churches until WWI.

But the NEVER insisted that the goverment cater to their language! NEVER.
