“The sheriff stated that it is their policy that the officers make it home safely ...doesn’t the public have a right to make it home safely also?...They need to stop blaming the victim and look at their own policies.”

This mindset of go home at the end of shift at all costs is costing innocent people's and dog's lives. Question to LEOs: what's your “collateral damage” — that is, body count — for being wrong and killing innocents? Yeah, I know, at least you go home after your shift after committing murder. The cops have pitched the Rule of Law for the Law of the Jungle. That is not VERY comforting.

**....their policy that the officers make it home safely....**

Safely from what? A LEO job is nor longer considered a *dangerous* job in the USA.

Cops are jacked up on steroids, with the knowledge they are immune from bad behavior and glowing in their own self-importance.

The truth as I see it is that this is intimidation to keep the peons in line. Payback is going to be a mother......
