Malaysian officials, already struggling with their public images after a jetliner with 239 people on board went missing, have been further embarrassed after a team of witch doctors performed rituals at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to find the missing Boeing 777.

"Can't you see how stupid we look in the eyes of the world?" Datuk Seri Anwar, the country's opposition leader, asked parliament on Thursday, according to the Malay Mail.

"All the contradicting statements, our slow response. Our credibility and image have been shattered, destroyed," Anwar said. Ibrahim Mat Zin, also known as the Raja Bomoh Sedunia Nujum VIP, led a spectacle of sorts on Monday when he performed bomoh, or shaman, rituals at the international airport, in full view of dozens of reporters from around the world who've descended on the Malaysian capital since the plane disappeared Saturday on its way to Beijing.

It has not been heard from since.

How about hiring a couple of FBI agents, instead??
I get the feeling that the Chinese are fast running out of patience.

Well the witch doctors cannot be any less effective than the authorities are so far.

They did not recruit the bomoh, he came on his own. Most of the country has been making fun of him.

When real solutions don’t work, I guess you try unreal ones.

Islamic witch doctors?

Or are they summoning genies and demons?

I’ve never heard of no flying carpet going down off the coast of Vietnam.

How about hiring the NSA. They can tell me what I had for dinner, I refuse to believe that they don’t already know where this plane is at.

I’m not laughing, I once saw a man with two bent pieces of wire locate an underground cable after a man with an electronic metal detector failed. Maybe it was luck but I saw him do it. Sometimes luck is better than knowledge.

As the guy with the fancy metal detectors (and more) - I have seen that too! (There is physics behind the bent wires).

I have also seen where a guy held a piece of gold on a string over a map to find out where the buried treasure was three states away. Not sure of the physics behind that!

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the good “witch doctor” comes up with the lost airplane?
