Scott Brown to announce exploratory committee for U.S. Senate run
New Hampshire Union Leader ^ | March 13, 2014 | John DiStaso

Posted on 03/14/2014 5:21:56 AM PDT by Din Maker

Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown on Friday will announce he is launching an exploratory committee for a run for the New Hampshire U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

A source close to Brown confirmed the announcement is at hand, and said it will be made in Nashua, where the state Republican Party will begin its two-day Northeast Republican Leadership Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Brown has been flirting with a Senate run in the Granite State for the better part of a year and recently moved full-time to what had been his vacation home in Rye and registered to vote there.

He has been intensifying his comments about the possibility of a run in recent weeks, as Shaheen's camp and the Democrats have been intensifying their attacks on him.

State Democratic Party spokesman Harrell Kirstein reacted to our report on Brown's contributions with this statement:

"Scott Brown is for Scott Brown and the powerful interests that back him, not New Hampshire. So when he gets back from his next trip to Iowa, he'll find himself in a tough Republican Primary against Republicans who are actually from New Hampshire. If he survives that, he'll face an even tougher general election against Jeanne Shaheen, whose common sense leadership makes a difference for New Hampshire and people here know it. New Hampshire isn't going to let Scott Brown and his big oil buddies like the Koch Brothers buy themselves a Senate seat."

Well he LOOKED like a conservative. After all he drove a pickup truck and wore an old LL Bean barn coat.

I don’t vote for democrats regardless if they are calling themselves “moderate Republicans” or not. I would rather have an enemy that I can fight against than a traitor that will stab me in the back...and that is all “moderate Republicans” are; traitors.

I have owned a home in Vermont for 30 years. I pay my share of the taxes. I would never think to move there and suggest to speak for those who have lived there full time.

Of course, If I moved there...in typical Masshole manner, I would be telling them what they are doing wrong immediately. I think that would be popular.

//sarcasm tag is essential here.

Scott Brown is better on amnesty than the entire northeast.

Talk about gun control. What is a bigger threat: 12 million Democrats or 1 more RINO in the senate?

Scott Brown and Bob Smith should spend the whole campaign trashing the joke that is Ayotte.

A carpetbagger is an outsider who wins a rigged game.

Hillary was a carpetbagger in NY but would not be a carpetbagger in Texas.

Cheney thought she had a rigged game where she could use her name recognition and national fund raising and pummel Enzi in a primary where very few vote and then pummel the democrat.

Brown is in a very competive race where the game is not rigged.

Also the states in NE are so small, Brown grew up about 40 miles from the NH border.

Before you go tossing around the word traitor.

Some would call you a traitor for helping enable Obama to be President.

I am not sure you are responding to me. I never called him a traitor. I respect his years of service in the MA State House and in the service of the country.

I just dont think its fair to the folks of NH to live somewhere else, representing them—and then turning around in a few years and trying to represent another state.

The people of NH are free to elect whomever they please.

And trust me, friend, I did nothing to help elect Obama.

Brown is the chosen sacrificial lamb, maybe he knows it, maybe not. The rinos who run the state gop are trying to capitalize on three conservatives who are going to split the conservative vote, and hand the nomination to the rino du jour, who will then lose to Shaheen, who BTW is better on guns than Brown. That’s the plan, and they are comfortable with it. What really, really, REALLY matters to them is that an actual conservative doesn’t win. They will do anything to prevent it, including throwing the election to a dem.
Gun rights trump virtually every other issue in New Hampshire, and gun owners will vote for the candidate with the better voting record, no question about it.
The NH rinos are joined at the hip with the dems in their efforts to stop conservatives. Big name political pundit, commentator, and otherwise moron is Tom Rath, a lawyer, picked up for DUI recently, who is in an environmental law practice with the biggest dems in the state. He’s a real POS, and never stops bashing and ridiculing conservative candidates. He’s the usual go-to spokesman for the country club rinos, and was on tv supporting Brown the day he announced that he’s running. WMUR always goes to Rath for commentary, because they know that they can count on his hatred for actual conservative candidates.
Now that Brown is in the race, he will be the nominee by splitting the conservative vote, and then lose to Shaheen over guns. Watch it play out, for sure.

“I am not sure you are responding to me. I never called him a traitor. “

Yes, my mistake. It was post 23 I was responding to not your post 24.

Sorry about that.

No problem...

Been called a lot of things. Especially being from Mass.

Had me scared that I had said something stupid....again.

Apology accepted. Now let’s go back and call that traitor a traitor!

Have a great night.

“Isn’t there a conservative who actually lives in New Hampshire who can run?”

They need a Wiliam Loeb clone but I’m afraid there aren’t enough of them around these days.
