According to the lessons of history, defeating the enemies of the Republic cannot happen by any civil means available to us or by any civil means we seek to establish.
A civil society requires a two-way street of respect for the law. That no longer exists.
The rulers no longer respect the law, and have declared they will decree what the law is and how it is to be imposed on We The Subjects.
Defeating them will require UNCivil means, because the enemy has no intention of being civil about remaining in power and using the system to impose it's will as it sees fit.
