Heh. I’m disappointed it took eight hours for somebody to call me on that...I was being a wiseguy.

First paragraph is square and uncontroversial and stuff.

It’s 100% true there are people absolutely sure Freescale developed a cloaking device and caused an airplane full of our people to vanish...the ultimate stealth, according to the folks who are positive we never landed on the moon.

Did we develop a cloaking device? I have no idea. I can tell you this: If I were in charge of testing these things out, I think I’d have used an empty aircraft. I sure as heck would not have stuffed the plane with 20 people key to manufacturing the things people buy from us, along with over 200 innocent people. That’s the kind of thing that would have the stockholders marching with torches, pitchforks, tar and feathers. I know: I’m a stockholder.

Are we involved in super-secret defense projects? Heck, I have no idea. That’s why they’re called “secret.” I work in R&D, and I am only vaguely aware of what that research will be used for (in a few years). It’s one of my curiosities, actually, but you get used to that when your research is always years ahead of the salable product.

Doesn’t matter; the pay is, as they say, all that matters. The people selling the gadgets don’t ask me how I write my code, and I don’t ask them who our customers are. Seems like a fair deal. I don’t wear a suit, and they pay me not-a-suit wages.
