No signs of the missing Malaysian jetliner have been found at a spot where Chinese satellite images showed what might be plane debris, Malaysia’s civil aviation chief said Thursday, deflating the latest lead in the five-day hunt.

“There is nothing. We went there, there is nothing,” Director-General of the Civil Aviation (DCA) Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

Vietnamese officials previously said the area had been “searched thoroughly” in recent days.

There will probably be lots of debris when this sucker detonates in a crowded international air terminal in a month or two.

With all the satellite technology Clinton sold the China for campaign contributions you would think their satellites could tell the difference between debris and whales hanging out.

No debris? Thats because its likely sitting on a runway somewhere in a rogue state.

No debris after 6 days.. So many 'eyes in the sky' and nothing? Even with thousands of people souring satellite imagery at Tomnod.com and nothing..

I still think this aircraft is probably about 600-800 miles south of Sri Lanka at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Is it possible to fly slowly at low altitude, pull the nose up a bit into a stall then lay it 'gently' into the water, leaving a minimum amount of debris behind? Perhaps the hijackers practiced this in flight simulators.. The flight simulators are amazingly true to actual flight characteristics and the forces of physics. I do support a complete and total BAN OF FLIGHT SIMULATOR SOFTWARE FOR HOME USE. Companies like Boeing need to lockdown all of their cockpit software and control it with extreme discipline.

I think landing this in a remote location without any word leaking out is darn near impossible. But then again, so was flying 2 aircraft into each tower and both of them collapsing to the ground.

I thought I saw it stated somewhere that the aircraft only carried a load of fuel sufficient to reach its destination, but wasn't fully loaded? If that's the case I wonder if the hijackers (if that's what happened) ran out of fuel over the Indian Ocean?

That stuff would be 20 yr old tech by now.
Compare with 20 yr old consumer electronics....

" I do support a complete and total BAN OF FLIGHT SIMULATOR SOFTWARE FOR HOME USE." Come on. What's next? Guns? Seems people could put those to destructive ends too. I don't know of any incidents of terrorism where a home simulator was the sole training apparatus for the act. The 9/11 attackers were trained in a professional commercial flight simulator and I'm assuming that you do not suggest banning flight training. Separate the object from the intent.
