With technology, if the passengers are alert some will have access to their technology. If the idea was to crash the plane, we would've known the plane crashed by now.

It's hard to imagine that there are secret negotiations going on at this point. A secret has never been kept this long. So either that plane landed somewhere and no one can find it or it crashed and there's no debris.

My head is spinning. Nothing makes any sense.

They would (try to kill the passengers) if the intent was to avoid a “Lets Roll!” scenario.

In a post 911 world killing passengers would be for preventing passenger revolt.

I agree, I think that part of the plan delayed the start of the navigation to the intended point of landing. Because they took the time to kill the passengers, they ran out of time/fuel to get where they wanted.
